Il Luogo Di Aimo E Nadia, One of the Greatest Restaurants in Milan, Italy

Il Luogo Di Aimo E Nadia
in Milan, Italy.
Some of the best restaurants in the world exist thousands upon thousands of miles away. One of those restaurants is definitely Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia. If you are looking to eat an Italian restaurant that is heavily influenced by French cuisine, you are going to love Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia. Located in the heart of Milan, on Via Privata Raimondo Montecucclio lies one of the best kept secrets in the world today, Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia. Il Luogo di Aimo was founded in 1955 by Aimo Moroni and remains to be one of the best restaurants representing Italian cuisine in the world. Recently, when visiting Milan, Italy I had the opportunity to visit this fine Italian eatery.

When you first enter this fine restaurant, you will notice that it is rather spacious. Despite being traditional, the tables are white and the chairs are blue, making Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia rather simple looking. It kind of reminds me of a country Italian setting. Something you would see in Tuscany, rather than Milan. There is a combination of square and round tables too. You will notice that on the walls are covered in some of the finest, yet new-fangled paintings that vary upon the doldrums. Most of this artwork is definitely created by Italian people. What really gave away this authentic Italian restaurant was it's aroma, as the smell of home cooked Italian food filled the air.

Shortly after I sat down, a waiter was quick, as well as, punctual and relatively swift. He was ready to take my order. I proceeded to ask for a wine list and then asked if they had Lambrusco wine. Of course, they laughed and said no. It's a well known fact that many Italians find Lambrusco to be rather cheap, so there are some Italians that find it gross. I love it, but I am also a wine connoisseur, so I am always appreciating almost everything. I decided to order the fine Cialla Bianco. It was a good port and I just knew it had possibilities (which it did). Once I ordered my wine, I decided to order a soup. The Carnaroli rice seemed the most appealing. After contemplating on what to order to eat, it took me a while to really decide. I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian and I wasn't seeing a lot of choices on the menu that I could enjoy. After talking to the waiter and manager, I discovered that "spaghetti" seemed the most appealing to me, so I decided to order it without any meat.

The staff, as well as, service at Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia was rather attentive, as well as, prompt. They were also courteous. Not only were they knowledgeable, but they took time to explain options. When I would ask multiple times about certain entrees and selections, they would not hesitate to explicate what they were. I must also say that I was incredibly impressed with the manager, Stefania Moroni, as she was so courteous and took the time out to explain more about Italian cuisine and the restaurant itself. The staff definitely made me feel welcome and the service exceeded my expectations.

The food was fresh, which is what I loved very much. You could taste the fresh ingredients. The Carnaroli rice was amazing. You could taste the saffron, but it wasn't overpowering. I am picky about spaghetti because I make it so well. I thought the spaghetti at Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia had a rather acquired taste, which I very much enjoyed. I think it may be because of the spring onions in it. It was absolutely delicious and what made it that way was the balance of ingredients. The sauce was amazing and I could taste an array of ingredients such as basil and thyme, as well as, a little bit of vodka. Afterwards, I decided to order dessert. I am a huge fan of tiramisu and it seems like whether I am, if I am having Italian food, I always tend to order this popular, yet highly delectable Italian dessert. It was outstanding. I have to admit that it is a rarity in the US to find tiramisu made with real ricotta cheese, however; it's quite normality in Italy and here was no exception. I seriously think the tiramisu at this fine restaurant is some of the best I have ever ate in my life.

Reservations are available at Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia. This Italian restaurant is closed during lunch on Saturdays (open for dinner) and closed on Sundays, but open any other time. Would I eat here again? Absolutely. When I go back to Milan, I definitely intend to eat there again. Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes. Whether you live in Milan or are traveling there, you are destined to love Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia. Cibo fantastico!

Praying For Time by George Michael

If you cannot view the video, just click here.

Lyrics:

These are the days of the open hand
They will not be the last
Look around now
These are the days of the beggars and the choosers

This is the year of the hungry man
Whose place is in the past
Hand in hand with ignorance
And legitimate excuses

The rich declare themselves poor
And most of us are not sure
If we have too much
But we'll take our chances
Because god's stopped keeping score
I guess somewhere along the way
He must have let us alt out to play
Turned his back and all god's children
Crept out the back door

And it's hard to love, there's so much to hate
Hanging on to hope
When there is no hope to speak of
And the wounded skies above say it's much too late
Well maybe we should all be praying for time

These are the days of the empty hand
Oh you hold on to what you can
And charity is a coat you wear twice a year

This is the year of the guilty man
Your television takes a stand
And you find that what was over there is over here

So you scream from behind your door
Say "what's mine is mine and not yours"
I may have too much but i'll take my chances
Because god's stopped keeping score
And you cling to the things they sold you
Did you cover your eyes when they told you

That he can't come back
Beacuse he has no children to come back for

It's hard to love there's so much to hate
Hanging on to hope when there is no hope to speak of
And the wounded skies above say it's much too late
So maybe we should all be praying for time

Tempted Night, a Villanelle

Reality is faux, dreams are for real. Praying before and after, every meal. The lure, the persuasion, the tempted night.

Epitome of free thinking, why conceal. Deception of status quo masks the kite. Reality is faux, dreams are for real.

Women elude the dubious clear sight. Whether you are black, white, orange, or teal. The lure, the persuasion, the tempted night.

Pleasure does not define sex, dear tonight. Glee does not always mean gay, the human right. Reality is faux, dreams are for real.

The air is tarnished with flawed banter fight. Within the night, the falling can heal. The lure, the persuasion, the tempted night.

Verity is my strength, dignity, light. Miracles of urges bring a new height. Reality is faux, dreams are for real. The lure, the persuasion, the tempted night.

-Sarah Afshar

Creperie, the Land of Crepes on the Lower East Side of New York City

Creperie NYC.
In the heart of the Big Apple on the lower East side, in between Rivington and Stanton Street, lies one of the most luscious, yet delightful and sinuous crepe eateries in New York, Creperie. This conscientious crepe restaurant is destined to appeal to the ultimate crepe loving customer, leaving one tenuously fulfilled and pleased.
Parking is fairly simple when it comes to this crepe friendly establishment, as Creperie provides the great parking. Creperie is moderately big, so it is a decent place to dine if you intend to frequent in a large group. If you plan to eat there individually, you will also find Creperie to be vastly engaging. There is no outdoor seating available, but this NYC eatery offers group dining and private parties. This place is rather unpretentious with a hint of refinement. It can be decorous, as it can be amorous, however, it is just an unadorned place to enjoy crepes. Both take-out and delivery services are accessible at this fine restaurant. Catering is also offered at Creperie.
The food is principally based on crepes. If you are not a fan of crepes, no big deal. There are other options available such as "Toasted Sandwiches on Ciabatta Bread" and "Wraps." One thing is undeniable, there are a lot of crepe varieties available. But if you see something you don't like or want something that isn't readily available, you can customize or create your own crepe. The service at Creperie is quite dutiful, punctual and kind. The crepes are relatively economical, and as a result, are enormously good for the price. One may find the food standard or satisfactory or even astounding, depending on your stance on crepes. If you are a crepe aficionado, more than likely, you will enjoy this place. Prices vary and start at $1.50 and go up to $11.
One thing is certain, Creperie is known for their crepes, as they leave a lot to covet. Despite the popularity of their crepes, which range from "Vegetarian House Special Crepe" (which consists of a spinach, artichoke, parmigiano cheese and reggiano cheese) to "Sautéed Chicken Crepe" (which has chicken, swiss cheese and mushrooms) to "House Special Crepe" (which includes tiramisu with strawberry, nutella and whipped cream) to "The Famous Crepe" (which consists of strawberry, banana, nutella, ice cream and whipped cream), and much more, Creperie clearly demonstrates why it is a great place to eat. Creperie also allows you to make-to-order a crepe, offering an array of amazing delectables such as brie cheese, goat cheese, fresh basil and more.
Creperie also provides a large selection of smoothies that will be appreciated by any crepe lover who visits this restaurant. My favorite is undeniably the "Raspberry Banana Smoothie." Creperie also has a wide range of vegan/vegetarian friendly foods that vary from "Veggies" (which includes an array of vegetables with ricotta cheese, roasted green and red peppers and eggplant) to "Goat Cheese" (which consists of goat cheese and your choice of eggs or mushrooms or sun dried tomatoes). Also, as stated previously, you can make your own crepes. Creperie even has an assortment of sweet crepes that range from "Chocolate Fudge" to "Apple, Caramel and Walnuts" to "Blueberry and Banana" to even "Strawberry, Banana and Nutella" and more. There are also five different types of chocolate available alone, which allow you to customize your own, sweet, delicious crepe. One of the best sweet crepes is definitely "Smores Crepe," which is an amazing crepe that has French milk chocolate, crushed graham crackers and marshmallows. There are specials all of the time, too.
My experience with Creperie has been outstanding. I truly recommend this to the fundamental crepe enthusiast looking to enjoy crepes in a nice, yet simple and comparatively open eating environment, who wants to be totally and utterly fulfilled. It is also open late, so it is really convenient to those looking to enjoy a nice, late-night bite. Would I eat there again? You better believe it. Creperie is open Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 3 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. until 2 a.m. The free delivery service is Monday through Sunday (or daily) from 5 p.m. until 12 a.m. with a minimum order of just $10.

Top 10 Perfumes of 2011

Versace Bright Crystal
by Versace. The #1 fragrance of 2011.
Perfume is a product that has become essentially a part of our everyday lifestyle. As women, we not only strive to look good, but smell good too. It is a well known fact that there are an array of amazing perfume in the world of fragrance, however; there are only a select few that deserve worldwide recognition for possessing qualities that are not only striking, but unbelievably unmatched. The year is 2011, so I have decided to narrow down the many perfumes in the world today, to only the top 10 perfumes of 2011.

10. Delices De Cartier Eau de Parfum by Cartier. Recently, when shopping at Sephora, I had the great pleasure of discovering this wonderful addition to Cartier. What I noticed first about Delices De Cartier Eau de Parfum by Cartier is the black cherry scent which is very noticeable, yet dominant in this fragrance. I am not notorious for liking floral, let alone musk, but do love the floral collaborated in this fragrance. This perfume is not only incandescent and corporeal, it is enchanting and lively too. This perfume is clearly one of the best perfumes of 2011. If you are searching for an incredible perfume, you are definitely going to love Delices De Cartier Eau de Parfum by Cartier.

9. L'Eau Ambree by Prada. Prada is known for possessing some of the hautest couture in fashion, but what you don't realize is that Prada is known for possessing some of the most superb and most lavish perfumes in the world today. If you are looking for a great perfume, I truly recommend L'Eau Ambree by Prada. The amber, rose, and vanilla mixed together are incredibly outstanding in this perfume. I love the lemon quintessence in this fragrance, as it smells natural and works well with the other scents. If I had to describe this perfume in one word, I would definitely say it is "exotic". Despite being airlessly sultry, L'Eau Ambree by Prada is rather enduring, without being overshadowing or binding, making it a perfume worth owning today.

8. Hello Kitty. The official Hello Kitty fragrance is amazing. Available at Sephora, this scent is not only fun, but it is sweet, incredibly sparkling, and modernly sensual too. If you love the sweetest things in life, you are going to love the official Hello Kitty fragrance, as this perfume is, without question, one of the greatest perfumes in the world today. The individual scents in this perfume range from apples and oranges to vanilla and sorbet, and much more. Although there is musk in this vastly underrated fragrance, it is not strong nor intense. If you are looking for a perfume that makes a statement, I definitely recommend Hello Kitty.

7. Rose Essentielle by Bvlgari. Some of the best perfumes you will discover in your lifetime are right in front of your eyes. When one wears this terrific addition to Bvlgari, it truly exemplifies a feminine aura. A friend of mine who has dubbed this perfume as "The best she has ever used" said to me "Sarah, this is the best perfume because when one smells it, they think of a sexy, yet mysterious woman who just smells so wonderful". I absolutely love how well the berry scent works perfectly with the rose and jasmine. If you love raw floral, especially roses with the essence of sweet berry, you are going to love Rose Essentielle by Bvlgari. Not only is this perfume very luxurious, but is smells incredible.

6. Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture. We, as women, have a job in life to not only look our best, but smell our best. The only way to feel good is to accomplish these two major goals. If you are looking for a great way to smell your best, the time is now to choose Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture, as this is openly one of the best perfumes in the world right now. With individual scents that range from wild berries, caramel, honeysuckle, and praline to mandarins, sandalwood, jasmine, and gardenia, Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture proves why it is one of the best perfumes of 2011. The vanilla in this fragrance conquers the fragrance, while keeping the perfume novel, enticing, and appealing.

5. Brit Eau de by Burberry. I don't know about you, but I love those distinctive fragrances that personify multiple personalities. These are the type of fragrances that you can wear all of the time and when another smells it, they openly think of you. Brit Eau de by Burberry is one of these types of fragrances. The pear and lime scent in this fragrance works amazing with the almond and vanilla scent, as the amber really stands out, making Brit Eau de by Burberry an impetuous, yet exceptional fragrance and one of the best perfumes of 2011. If you are looking to own a magnificent perfume, you cannot go wrong with Brit Eau de by Burberry as it is clearly one of the best.

4. Hypnotic Poison by Dior. Searching for a great perfume can be relatively time consuming and heavily overwhelming, as a result. The good news is, you don't have to spend numerous shopping hours trying to find that perfect perfume, as it is right in front of your eyes. If you are looking for a great fragrance that is understated, yet compelling, you are going to love Hypnotic Poison. I have to admit, there is something about the almond, cinnamon, and vanilla in this fragrance that gets me. Hypnotic Poison smells amazing and remains to be one of my favorite perfumes.

3. Daisy by Marc Jacobs. Some of the best perfumes in the world are right in front of your eyes. When it comes to choosing a fragrance, it is a well know fact that there are several qualities to consider. Some of these qualities include a perfume that is universal and can work well on every woman that wears it and a perfume that is long-lasting. This perfume is also not overpowering, which makes it that much easier to use. The strawberry, ruby red grapefruit, gardenia, violet petals, musk, and vanilla in this fabulous fragrance never smelled so good and works incredibly well, when collaborated. Daisy by Marc Jacobs clearly proves why it is one of the best perfumes of 2011.

2. Guilty by Gucci. I was looking at a fragrance social networking website and came across a really interesting article about the different perfumes one will discover, as well as, use in their lifetime. What was so intriguing is the fact that there have been millions created alone. Can you imagine? Although it is fairly shocking, one thing I can actually say is that Guilty by Gucci is definitely one of the best perfumes to exist, making it a jut in those millions of perfumes created. What I love most about Guilty by Gucci is the fact that the peach fragrance is very prevalent in this scent. Also, the amber, the mandarin, as well as, the lilac scents evidently standout, making this a fragrance worth owning. It is also long-lasting. Guilty by Gucci is audacious, sexy, and opulent. I must admit that I am guilty of loving this perfume.
...and the number one perfume of 2011 is...

*drum roll*
 1. Bright Crystal by Versace. When visiting Sephora in New York City, I had the opportunity to smell this product. It was then, that I purchased it instantaneously, as it smelled incredible, but also lasted a long time. If you are looking for a perfume that is reasonably sundry, yet possesses a moderately acquired scent, this fabulous addition to Versace is the right fragrance for you. Bright Crystal by Versace is amazing and one of my favorite fragrances. I have to admit that despite smelling pomegranates and peonies, among many other floral and fragrance, that all of these scents work well together, making Bright Crystal the number one perfume of 2011.

Seeking a pristine fairytale and lease.
Glory of life is one big mystery.
Unpredictable outcome, vile ways.
Errors are valid strengths, you will endure.
Counting down the minutes, hours, the days.
Exhilaratingly, I want it more.
Lingering ideas that exist in time.
Right value, you are worth more than a dime.

Summer 2011: A Look at the Best Yves Saint Laurent Sandals

The Tribute Contrast Stitch Sandals
by Yves Saint Laurent
Yves Saint Laurent represents some of the finest vogue in haute couture. Founded in 1962, Yves Saint Laurent (commonly known as YSL) prolongs the identity of a bona fide, luxury fashion house brand. One thing is certain, Yves Saint Laurent continues to grow as a brand, by creating some of the best shoes in the world today. Some of those shoes include some of the most superb sandals in fashion to date. The year is 2011 and as Summer approaches, so does the demand for sandals. Lets take a look at the best Yves Saint Laurent Sandals for Summer.

One of the best sandals by Yves Saint Laurent for 2011 is unquestionably the Tribute Contrast Stitch Sandals. These shoes are custom made, as they were made by hand using genuine type leather and contrast stitching. The platform on these YSL sandals are 1 ¼" and the heel is a little over 5 inches at 5 ½". The insole is padded, so these shoes are comfortable. Made with real authentic leather, the lining and the sole possess it. The color is Beige, which is a simple muted beige. These shoes go with anything, which makes the demand for them extremely enormous. You can purchase these amazingly elite YSL sandals at your nearest Sak's Fifth Avenue for $890. If you are looking for a great sandal that is not only highly fashionable, but high-end too, you are going to love the Tribute Contrast Stitch Sandals. The demand for these sandals are so high, that although there may be a waiting list, most of the time, you can find these shoes, but you are limited to buying a certain amount. Yves Saint Laurent truly proves they are a force to be reckoned with, as does their sandals.

Some of the best shoes I have ever worn are so nonspecific and simple, they are amazing. Not just to wear, but they go with everything under the sun. Yves Saint Laurent's Tribute Metallic-Trim Suede Sandal If you are searching for quality sandals that are simple, yet provide you with all of the benefits of a high-end shoe, you are going to love Yves Saint Laurent's Tribute Metallic-Trim Suede Sandal. The platform of these shoes is a little over 1 inch, making them 1¼ inch. The heel is about 5¼ inchees. The colors are so flexible, you just won't be able to resist purchasing them, as they come in Black with gold and Beige with gold. The two-tone in these shoes is outstanding, as the gold goes great with both shades. Whether you are wearing a solid colored dress or a print dress, these shoes will go with anything. The suede material is fantastic, yet brilliant. These shoes were made in Italy. You can purchase Yves Saint Laurent's Tribute Metallic-Trim Suede Sandal for $995 at your nearest Neiman Marcus. I guarantee that anyone who owns a pair of these shoes is going to not only love them, but appreciate them much more so.

If you are looking for a shoe that is made with real exotic snake, you are going to love Yves Saint Laurent's Tribute Python Sandals. Yves Saint Laurent has always been known for their spontaneous use of fabrics. There are two colors to these sandals. They include Safari and Orange. When it comes to Safari, the python is based on a natural hue, however; the actual print from the python overlaps the sides. Although the print overlaps the sides on both shades, the orange tends to be more radical. This shoe is also available in Oceanic Blue, which is a relatively subdued, yet intense blue. The straps are rather secure in these sandals and these sandals continue to demonstrate why an open toe, as well as, open back is "in" for the 2011 Summer season. The platform on these shoes is a little over 1", making them 1 ½". The heel is about 5 ¼" making them modestly high. One thing to love about these shoes is the fact that they were made in Italy, so if you are looking for some of the finest sandals in Italian couture, you are going to love these. These shoes are amazing with solid dresses, rather than prints. YSL's Tribute Python Sandals is available at Neiman Marcus for $1,395 for the Safari and $1,495 for the Orange and Oceanic Blue, which is available at Sak's or Barney's. If you are searching for a sandal that is not only exotic, but high-end, you are going to love these.

Some of the best shoes I have ever seen in my life have been made by Yves Saint Laurent. Some of the best sandals you will ever see are definitely Yves Saint Laurent's Patent Leather Stingray Tribute Sandals. The heel is 5 ¾" making them relatively higher than the average shoe, with a platform of 1 ½". The padded insole makes them secure, yet wearable by default. The open toe, with the open back make them comfortable, yet chic. I love the leather lining on these shoes. Available in black and tan, these shoes truly prove that simplicity can be enhanced with some of the best quality to exist. The sparkles with the stingray platform are amazingly modish. Whether you are wearing that little black dress or a floral outfit, Yves Saint Laurent's Patent Leather Stingray Tribute sandals will pair well with whatever you choose. These sandals are also available in Purple, which can be found at Bergdorf Goodman. These shoes were made in Italy. You can find Yves Saint Laurent's Stingray Tribute Sandals at your nearest Sak's Fifth Avenue for $995. Some of the finest sandals in fashion for 2011, making them one of the best of Yves Saint Laurent. I have to admit that I truly love these sandals.

YSL never disappoints when it comes to fashion design. Whether it be a dress or even shoes, Yves Saint Laurent is definitely a brand that creates some of the best custom made necessities that are essentially significant to the modern fad. One of the best shoes of the Summer season is definitely YSL's Kilima Platform Sandals. Yves Saint Laurent's Kilima Platform Sandals are available in khaki indigo, which is a rather intense, yet subdued deep dark taupe. You can also purchase these sandals in brown. Possessing only a 1" platform, with a heel height of 4 inches these sandals prove why they are haute to the h. The buckle closure in these shoes is fabulous. They are made in Italy, as they are imported using only the finest fabric. I love the fact that these sandals go with every dress or outfit. They also standout, but in a natural way, without someone say "those shoes are over the top". Theses Yves Saint Laurent shoes can be found at Nordstrom's for $995. Some of the best YSL shoes are simple, as they go with just about every ensemble and these are the type of shoes that do just that, making them one of the best Yves Saint Laurent sandals of 2011.

If you are anything like me, you can appreciate shoes that not only look great with whatever you wear, but also are wearable too. One of the best sandals that fits this profile is definitely YSL's Tribute Cork Platform Sandals. The platform and heel are made of real authentic cork. The platform is 1 ½" and the heel is 5 ¾". The sole, as well as, lining is made with genuine leather. The Yves Saint Laurent Tribute Cork Platform Sandals are open toe, but also possess an open back which makes them highly Summer appropriate. The ankle strap is adjustable. The padded insole makes these shoes not only safe, but really comfy too. I have to admit that I have never been a fan of many "cork" style sandals, however; I am definitely not reluctant nor hesitant to mention that I am modestly impressed with Yves Saint Laurent's Tribute Cork Platform Sandals. These sandals were made in Italy. You can purchase Yves Saint Laurent's Tribute Cork Platform Sandals at your nearest Sak's Fifth Avenue for $795. These are exclusive with Sak's, so you will not be able to purchase them from anywhere else. Spring is here and Summer is near, the time is now to discover some of the best sandals of 2011 by Yves Saint Laurent.

Sarah's Ultimate Hickory Smoked Deli Sandwich, One of the Best Vegetarian Friendly Sandwiches You Will Ever Eat

Sarah's Ultimate Hickory Smoked Deli Sandwich
by Sarah Afshar
Photo by Sarah Afshar/Yahoo! Associated Content
Tofurky is a vegan/vegetarian friendly food brand that has been making waves all around the world for over 20 years. Located in Hood River, Oregon Tofurky has established itself as one of the best ethical food brands on the planet. One of my favorite Tofurky products is definitely the Hickory Smoked Deli Slices. Recently, I had the opportunity to put together one of the best sandwiches I have ever made using Tofurky's Hickory Smoked Deli Slices.

Sarah's Ultimate Hickory Smoked Deli Sandwich
-Multigrain Bread (2 slices)
-Garden Lettuce
-Tomatoes
(2 slices)
-Artichoke Hearts (preferably marinated and you will need about 3)
-Red Onion (2 slices at the most)
-Garden Onion (2 onions diced into small pieces)
-Burgundy Olives (3 olives, sliced)
-Green Olives (2 olives, sliced)
-Mushrooms (3 mushrooms)
-Tofurky Hickory Smoked Deli Meat (2 slices)
-Smoked Gouda Cheese (1 slice)
-Swiss Cheese (1 slice)
-Munster Cheese (1 slice)
-Mayonnaise (2 tbsp.)
-Spicy Mustard (2 tbsp.)

First and foremost, you want to begin by laying out your two pieces of bread. Once you have done this, using a butter knife, you want to take 1 tbsp. of mayonnaise and spread it on top of one of the pieces. As you continue, go ahead and apply mayonnaise to the other piece. Then, you want to apply your spicy mustard the same way. Spread generously.

Now we can begin building Sarah's Ultimate Hickory Smoked Deli Sandwich. The first layer will consist of the garden lettuce. You don't need that much, but enough to apply to the sandwich. Secondly, you want to add your tomatoes. I would recommend 2 slices of tomato. I decided to use vined tomatoes, simply because I enjoy using them the most. As you continue, you want to use artichoke hearts. Marinated artichoke hearts are the best to use. For this sandwich, I used artichoke hearts by Native Forest.

Are you having fun yet? The time is now to slice a red onion. You want to only slice the onion twice. Too much can and possibly will overpower the sandwich. Then, you want to add the olives. For this sandwich I used 3 burgundy olives and 2 green olives. I sliced each one several times and used the result, on the sandwich. As you continue with building your sandwich, you want to add the mushrooms. I like to buy mushrooms pre-sliced in the produce section of Safeway, my local grocery store.

Once you have applied these ingredients, you can go ahead and adding the primary ingredient, which is Tofurky's Hickory Smoked Deli Slices. You want to add just 2. Once you have accomplished this, you can go ahead and add a slice of smoked Gouda cheese, followed by a slice of Swiss cheese and of course, a slice of Munster cheese.

You are finished. Now you can enjoy Sarah's Ultimate Hickory Smoked Deli Sandwich
.

Kyle singing Grenade

The day of the 2nd day of auditions in Dallas for XFactor, a bunch of us decided to sing and jam right in front the convention center. It was a great time. Here is Kyle Jeffers singing Grenade by Bruno Mars.

Great news about X Factor 2011 in Dallas, TX for today

Every single person that I made friends with, that tried out for the show, and made it the performance round, has made it on the show, however; one person did not. The reason this person did not is because his voice tends to crack after he oversings. He was practicing his audition and instead of singing in head voice and going over notes and melodies of the tune, he belted it out as loud as he could sing.

I had some voice lessons, but nothing major and this is just something you do not do. As a rock/soul singer with a hint of blues, I have learned the hard way on how to perfect the human instrument, as I am mainly self taught. When you reherse, you do not have to give it your all. Kind of like hitting a punching bag. You don't have to strike it has hard or as fast as you can. It's a fallacy when it comes to working out, just as over singing every single time is the biggest fallacy in music. This only gives you the opportunity to develop as a singer, as well as, develop the performance. He had this trouble the last time and when I tried to give him advice (this was after the second auditions in Dallas), he said he would take it, but it is very obvious he did not.

One of my friends who made it on the show actually texted me two hours ago and said "You should hear @##$%, he just sang so loud here in the yes room. He is going to lose his voice before he sings in front of Simon. It was so loud that others couldn't hear themselves and @!$#$%# heard him over his iPod" and that is exactly what happened. When it came time to sing in front of Simon Cowell and the other judges, he tried to go into certain notes (jump different octaves) and his voice just cracked. Instead of continuing to sing, he would apologize for his vocal discrepancy and ask to start over. I feel bad for him, but at least I hope he has learned from this entire ordeal.

Anyways, I have one more friend who is auditioning sometime at 7 pm, but as you are aware, the live taping of X Factor 2011 in Dallas, TX starts at 1 pm (central time) and 6 pm (central time) so stay tuned.

Performance round auditions for X Factor begin today in Dallas, TX

I am so proud of my friends who made it through to the performance round on X Factor. As you are aware, today (June 21st) and tomorrow (June 22nd) are the auditions for this singing reality show. The live tapings of X Factor begin at 1 pm and also 6 pm. I am definitely looking forward to knowing who is going to get on the show. I am texting certain people around the clock, so I am hoping I get some answers soon.

X Factor is definitely going to be huge in the US. Like American Idol, it is going to air live on FOX. There are many contracts involved with the show (after every audition that I past, I had to do more paperwork, etc), along with the individuals who will be appearing on the show. Because of this, I will not announce specific names of the people who make it past the performance round today or tomorrow. I do not have that right and promised my friends who made this far, absolute discretion.

I, will, however; announce whether or not one of my friends I met during the entire X Factor process did make it, so stay tuned.

I was filming James and Kyle and didn't realize that I actually had sung along with them. I love Queen and this song totally rocks. We had a blast after our 2nd auditions for X Factor in Dallas, TX. This is just one of the many examples of what happened during the 2nd auditions of X Factor 2011 in Dallas, TX.

Shane singing Hey Jude

This is not only one of the most audacious and risky renditions of Hey Jude by The Beatles, it is one of the most bad ass covers I heard yet. Shane Paul Smith totally rocked it. This is just a glimpse of what happened after the second X Factor auditions in Dallas, TX.

The first total Lunar Eclipse of 2011

The first total Lunar Eclipse of 2011 occurred on Wednesday, June 15th, 2011. In case you are wondering what a Lunar Eclipse actually is, it is simply when the moon hides from the sun and manages to allign itself with the earth, by hiding behind it. The premise is based primarily on safety, as this prevents the moon from enduring any harmful rays that the sun possesses.

Although, the Lunar Eclipse was present in many other areas of the world such as United Arab Emirates, Tanzania, Hungary, Czech Republic, and different areas of Western Australia, where the eclipse managed to be incredibly visible, you could still view this astrological phenomenom every area around the world. In fact, I managed to get some pictures from my bedroom window in the late hours of the night here in Dillon, MT. Although the quality is not the best, the Lunar Eclipse is still relatively visible in these images.

From a distance, without zoom. Although it is moon is visible, you cannot see the details, let alone inclusions of the moon. All you see a bright moon.

Once I managed to zoom in, I got a good shot. This was zooming in 13 times.

Zooming in 26 times.

The first Eclipse of this year was a Solar Eclipse, which occurred in early January. The Solar Eclipse can only be viewed within moderation, as only certain areas can view it, whereas; the Lunar Eclipse can be viewed everywhere. The second total Lunar Eclipse of 2011 is expected to occur on Saturday, December 10th, 2011. Once this occurs, the next Lunar Eclipse is anticipated to be not be seen until 2014.

A Look at the Best Vegetarian Restaurants in Washington, D.C

Washington D.C. is the capital of the United States of America. It is the primary headquarters to many shrines and museums, as well as, trade alliances, foyer groups, and professional associations. Washington D.C. is also home to some of the best restaurants in the world today, including some of America's finest vegetarian eateries. I have decided to narrow down the various vegetarian restaurants in the Washington D.C. to only the best.

Vegetarian food is amazing! In between James Madison and Glengyle Drive on 2531 Chain Bridge Road in Vienna lies one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Washington D.C., the Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant. With everything from Soups, salads, and sushi to an array of specials including an array of pastas and entrees, you are destined to not only love this vegetarian eatery, but appreciation much more so. I have tried everything from the noodles to the entrees and more and I have discovered that I truly love the "General Tso's Surprise" which is a vegetarian take on the popular Chinese dish. Sushi combo boxes are less than $10, which makes this vegetarian restaurant affordable. There is a lot of Asian food here, however; there are many things that are not, as well. Desserts are also available. One of my favorites is definitely the "Organic Almond & Blueberry Jelly Pie". The ambiance is rather traditional. It is not pristine nor art deco. In fact, if you are looking for an environment that is clean, with a home-style feel, you are going to like the Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant. Gluten-free items are also available. Prices start at just $1.50 and go up to $12. Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 am until 10 pm and on Sunday from noon until 10 pm. For more information about Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant, please call: (703) 319-3888 or visit http://www.crystalsunflower.com today. Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant has received numerous awards for their fine vegetarian friendly cuisine and were featured in the Best of DC 2010 publication. If you are looking to enjoy a fabulous vegetarian meal, you just cannot go wrong with this fantastic vegetarian eatery.

I remember when I first became a vegetarian, I was a lot younger, but less wiser. I never did my research when I traveled, so I always found myself wondering "Where can I eat?". If you are looking to enjoy great vegetarian food, I definitely think you have to eat at Maoz Vegetarian. Located in heart of Washington D.C. on 1817 M St. NW in between 18th and 19th St. NW lies one of the best vegetarian restaurants in D.C. Maoz Vegetarian's cuisine is heavily inspired by the Middle East. With everything from Soups, Salads, and Sandwiches to Sides and Specials, you will not make a mistake eating at Maoz. I love to purchase the "meal deal special" which consists of a Maoz sandwich, eggplant & hummus, Belgian fries, and a drink. The prices are relatively reasonable. Although the environment here is simple, it is rather small for a restaurant, so it is best to just get your food to go. I love this place because it's open really late, so it's convenient if you are going out or staying in and want to enjoy Middle Eastern influenced vegetarian food. Maoz Vegetarian is open Monday through Thursday from 11 am until 11 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11 am until 3 am, and Sunday 12 pm to 9 pm. For more information about Maoz Vegetarian, just call: (202) 290-3117 or visit http://www.maozusa.com right now. Vegetarian food never tasted so good. Once you go Vegetarian, you just won't eat meat again?

Searching for great vegetarian food should in no way occupy your time or your patience. Once you discover that good vegetarian food does exist, especially in Washington D.C. you don't have to spend countless hours debating where to go and what to eat. On 1020 19th St. NW in between 18th Street and K + L Street lies the Java Green Organic Eco Café. With everything from fresh sandwiches to fresh wraps to fresh soups and salads, among other things, you can't go wrong with this wonderful vegetarian eating place. Some of my favorite vegetarian foods at this fine eatery are the "Fresh Mozzarella Organic Wrap" or the "Veg Max Sandwich" (and sometimes I like to get an extra topping or two on it). I also love the "Java California Sandwich". The Java Green Organic Café emphasizes on the organic concept, so everything you eat here is incredibly fresh and free of lab created preservatives. I love this café because it is simple. It is a nice place, but it's relatively convenient and it is close to 3 of D.C's major metros. Gluten-free is definitely popular here. Delivery, as well as, catering is also available. Java Green Organic Eco Café is open Monday from 8 am until 7 pm. For more information about the Java Green Organic Eco Café, simply call: (202) 775-8899 or visit http://www.javagreen.net right now. If you are looking to enjoy some of the best vegetarian cuisine in Washington D.C., I truly recommend visiting Java Green Café today.

Discovering a good vegetarian restaurant is moderately rare. However; despite being uncommon, it does exist. Located on 1438 Wisconsin Avenue NW in between O and P St. lies one of the best vegetarian restaurants in America's capital, Avocado Café. With everything from Salads and Sandwiches to Wraps and Rollups and much more, you will love the Avocado Café. The food at the Avocado Café is influenced by the Middle East, however; there are an array of things that are inspired by other cuisines. The last time that I visited the Avocado Café, I ordered the "Spinach & Goat Cheese Wrap" for just $6.99 with a "Cannoli" for dessert. I also enjoyed a "Pomegranate Punch" smoothie with my meal, which make it even better. They make great NY Style pizza here. Prices start at just 85 cents and go up to $15. Delivery is available. Catering services are also available. You also have the option of ordering online, if you have the internet. I love the Avocado Café because it is open longer than any other vegetarian restaurant that I have been to in the D.C. area while possessing fantastic food, as a result. If you visit this vegetarian restaurant with someone who eats meat, more than likely they will find something to enjoy, as there are a few things on the menu. The Avocado Café is open Daily from 11 am until 4 am. For more information, just call: (202) 337-5115 or visit http://www.avocadocafedc.com right now. The next time that I visit D.C. I am going to definitely hit up the Avocado Café. Who would have ever guessed that some of the best vegetarian food in D.C. would have the fruit/vegetable "Avocado" in the title.

I remember my last time visiting a big city. I was unaware of the vegetarian restaurants available, as well as, the vegetarian friendly foods available and found myself contemplating over several food decisions. It is always nice to be prepared when traveling to any major city because sometimes vegetarian restaurants are not within reach. Located in the heart of Washington D.C. on 2101 L St. NW lies one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Washington, D.C., Litestars. Litestars is known for having great soup, however; their biggest creation is their tarlets. I absolutely love them and if I had to choose a favorite, I would definitely say the "Zucchini Tarlet". The smoothies are amazing here and I find myself enjoying the "Blueberry Smoothie" the best. This vegetarian eatery also allows you to enjoy many options that are gluten-free. The atmosphere is rather reserved, yet simple. Litestars is open Monday through Friday from 7 am until 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10 am until 6 pm. For more information about Litestars, simply call: (202) 293-0281 or visit http://www.litestars.com today. Vegetarian restaurants may be a rarity when it comes to the food business, but lucky for you, it does really exist.

With a population of over 5 million, Washington D.C. remains to be one of America's biggest cities. As we know, with every big city, a great restaurant usually follows, as a result. Finding a vegetarian eatery should never be overwhelming or lingering and with this guide, it doesn't have to ever be.

Cocktail Recipes: Batida De Exotic

One of the most fluent, yet colorful drinks of all cocktails is the Batida cocktail. Inspired by island fruits and Cachca liqueur, the Batida proves to take you places, where you have never been before. Although the drink is commonly created with Vodka instead of Cachca liqueur, due to it's supply and demand on an economic wavelength, Cachca liqueur has a more sweet, yet unique flavor that collaborates well with the ingredients. With drinks such as Batida Morango, Batida de Pina, Batida Abacaxi, Batida de Carnival, Batida de Brazil, Batida de Sun, Batida de Summersday, Batida de Banana, Batida de Maracuja, and more, this amazing cocktail proves to be practically universal.

One of the most popular cocktails within the Batida family is the Batida de Coco. The Batida de Coco is a rather fluent, yet simple drink influenced by the coconut fruit. The Batida de Coco possesses two individual parts of Cachca liqueur and coconut cream, followed by crushed ice. The drink is traditionally served chilled, in a regular high ball cocktail glass, however; people who have a huge appreciation for this heavily coconut inspired drink, drink it in a regular cocktail glass on the rocks with a pineapple slice or maraschino cherry.

Another great drink within the Batida relationship is the Batida Mango. The Batida Mango is a rather colorful, yet simple drink heavily inspired by the mango fruit. The Batida Mango possesses 3 individual parts of Cachca liqueur, fresh mango, and sugar, followed by crushed ice. The mango is chopped up until it's heavily blended into the liquid. The Batida Mango is served in a chilled white wine glass.

Although theorists believe this drink possess only two parts of a Cachca liqueur and fruit juice of your choice, I have decided to change it a little bit and create my own rendition of this fine drink, making many waves, followed by a huge splash.
Batida de Exotic

2 oz. Cachca Liqueur
1 oz. Cantalope Liqueur
1 oz. Honeydew Melon Liqueur
1 cup Banana
(chopped, mashed, and blended)1 cup Crushed Ice
1 tbsp Milk
1 tbsp Sugar
(optional)

Before combining the ingredients, you wanna prepare everything individually in equal parts, excluding the Cachca. You want to begin by adding your banana to the blender and blending it for about 10 seconds. The fruit should not be turn into liquid, but rather be liquidity.

In a separate shaker, combine the cantaloupe liqueur and honeydew liqueur. As you continue, add the banana, crushed iced, and milk. When you have finished combining these ingredients, add the Cachca, followed by the sugar.

In a practical sense, you can use a hand held shaker or blender to mix, as either/or, works great. When you are finished, serve in a chilled, high ball glass, on the rocks, with a pineapple slice or maraschino cherry.

Cocktail Recipes: Rabo-de-galo Sunrise

One of the most unique of all Brazilian cocktails is the Rabo-de-galo cocktail. On more of a cocktail shot level, the Rabo-de-galo is a drink with an edge, that is inspired by Cachca liqueur and red vermouth. The Rabo-de-galo cocktail proves to be ultimately divine, catering to the everyday bittersweet lover. Whether you love Cachca liqueur or vermouth, you are destined to not only enjoy this amazingly fluent drink, but appreciate it, much more so, on an entirely different level.

In ancient times, individuals who appreciated an array of flavors mixed with both sweet and bitter influences combined together to form an acquired taste, would appreciate this fine, ethnic cocktail. With the essence of a subtle goulash, on a drink wavelength, the result would be the Rabo-de-galo cocktail. The result, of course would be much stronger with a more rich flavor and acquired taste. Whether alone, on a warm evening with friends or at a dinner party, the Rabo-de-galo will propose the appropriate toast.

What makes the Rabo-de-galo so interesting is the fact that this amazing creative, yet simple cocktail possesses two individual parts of Cachca liqueur and red vermouth, followed by one part of Cynar. The Cynar is truly optional, however; theorists believe that this fine Italian cordial possesses an array of health benefits, making it ultimately worth adding to any Rabo-de-galo drink. Of course, this cordial also provides the bitterness that collaborates finely with the sweet part of the drink. Cynar is a cordial inspired by artichokes. The Rabo-de-galo cocktail is traditionally served in a large shot glass, however; some people believe it is consumed better when it is in a regular cocktail glass on the rocks with an olive.

Although theorists believe this drink possess only two parts of a Cachca liqueur and red vermouth, I have decided to create my own rendition and version of this unique and authentic drink.
Rabo-de-galo Sunrise

2 oz. Cachca Liqueur
2 oz. Red Vermouth
1 oz. Cynar Liqueur
1 oz. Campari Liqueur
In a practical sense, simply combine the Cachca liqueur, red vermouth, Cynar, and Campari liqueur together. There is absolutely no need to blend, as this drink is as simple as 1-2-3. Give it a little mix and serve in a chilled shot glass with an olive.

Cocktail Recipes: Banana Split Leite De Onca

One of the most versatile, yet satisfying drinks of all cocktails is the Leite de Onca cocktail. Inspired by milk and Cachca liqueur, the Leite de Onca proves to be much yummier, as it seems. This amazing cocktail is not only simple and practically universal, but one of my favorite cocktails to enjoy.

The Leite de Onca is a rather fluent, yet simple drink influenced by Brazilian culture. Although, it's history is fascinating, it bares no comparison to it's uniquely underrated taste. The Leite de Onca possesses three individual parts of Cachca liqueur, milk, cocoa liqueur, followed by condensed milk. The drink is, then, prepared using a standard mixer. Although many like to add the cocoa liqueur after the Cachca, milk, and condensed milk are blended together, it's really unnecessary. The drink is traditionally served chilled, in a standard mug glass, and then garnished with grounded cinnamon, however; people who have a huge appreciation for this heavily Cachca inspired drink, drink it in a regular cocktail glass on the rocks, garnished with chocolate.

What makes the Leite de Onca so great? I have decided to change the drink, also known as "Jaguar Milk" up a little bit and create my own rendition of this fine authentic drink, without changing the actual origin of this fine cocktail.
Banana Split Leite de Onca

2 oz. Cachca Liqueur
2 oz. Milk
1 oz. Cocoa Liqueur
1 oz. Strawberry Liqueur
1 oz. Banana Liqueur
1 oz. Pineapple Liqueur
2 oz. Condensed Milk
1 tsp of Chocolate Syrup
1 tsp of Grenadine
1 Scoop of Ice Cream

Before combining the ingredients, you wanna prepare everything individually in equal parts, excluding the Cachca liqueur, milk, and condensed milk. This would include: the cocoa, strawberry, banana, pineapple, grenadine, followed by the chocolate syrup and ice cream. After you have combined the ingredients, simply add the Cachca liqueur, milk, and condensed milk.

In a practical sense, you should use a blender to blend this drink. Once you have finished, serve in a chilled, mug glass, on the rocks. Top the entire glass with whipped cream and serve with a maraschino cherry.
