Get the hair look: Katie Holmes at the 2016 Met Gala

Katie Holmes stunned the red carpet at the 2016 Met Gala Monday evening in a beautiful black gown courtesy of Zac Posen along with shoes and Cartier jewels. It was almost 20 years old Holmes achieved success as Joey Potter in Dawson's Creek and today, life is even more ritzy. As her makeup looked amazing and was totally on fleek, her hair looked ultimately incredible and slayed her entire edgy look. In fact, the actress teamed up with celebrity hairstylist DJ Quintero before the event for a long, straight and super-shiny hair look to complement her Zac Posen dress.

“The whole feel became very Cher-esque; a 70’s throwback,” DJ Quintero shared.

So, is it possible to re-create this amazing hair look at home? Absolutely.

First and foremost, Quintero prepped Holmes hair by applying the Alterna Haircare Caviar CC Cream. This product works amazingly to add both manageability and smoothness. In the process of doing this, the celebrity hairstylist applied hair extensions to Holmes hair. Taking a thick round brush, Quintero began to blow dry the star's hair.

Taking the Sultra Beauty 1-inch tool, Quintero began to flat iron Holmes hair. To hide extensions Quintero applied the Alterna Haircare Bamboo Smooth Kendi Dry Oil Mist to the areas where they meet. Now, taking a small comb, part hair down the middle and create a super-long part.
