Zombie is about political expression. The message is so clear and the fact that Dolores O'Riordan refused $1 million just so release this amazingly epic song proves how iconic it really is.
I decided to cover it, as I found myself on Smule once again this evening. The piano version adds a very hauntingly beautiful appeal that you can't get with the original as it is more of a ballad versus the original, which is more upbeat.
