Julep Nail Polish in Oscar

I have a confession to make, I am absolutely in love with Julep's Nail Polish in Oscar. I am not sure if it is because it is a gorgeous gold color (as you can see from my swatch) or the fact that the nail polish itself is long-lasting and truly lives up to it's marketed promise. It is fast drying and the color pay-off is one of the best I have discovered in a nail polish product which is a great thing as you don't need to reapply relentlessly. It is also easy to remove.

Either way, if you are looking for a vibrant yet intense gold glitter, the Julep Nail Polish in Oscar "It Girl" is one you will not only love, but appreciate. Julep does not test on animals (confirmed several years ago) as it is cruelty-free and possesses vegan-friendly ingredients.

Would I recommend this nail polish? Absolutely. Oscar "It Girl" is available right now at Julep for $14. My search for a vibrant glitter glam yellow gold nail polish has officially ended.

Nails Inc. London in Mayfair Mews

As part of the 2013 Christmas Cracker Collection, I must say that I truly do love Mayfair Mews. As you can see from the swatch, the Fibre Optic effect is amazing, as is the color itself. Although this is described as a midnight blue, I do notice an intense violet effect when applying this particular polish. I don't think it's really what I would dub as midnight blue, but either way, it's stunning and very unique, making it a true standout.

In terms of quality, I really enjoy the color pay-off. To me, that is important as no one wants to repeatedly apply multiple coats of the product. When I swatched this, I wore it alone so all you see is the entire effect itself.

This isn't a nail product I find myself using often. It's stunning but would be of zero interest to anyone who is not a nail enthusiast. Would I use this product again? To be honest, no. Would I recommend this product? Yes. This product is discontinued, but I do believe you can still find it on Amazon.

Get the nails: Rihanna at the 2016 VMAs

The beautiful Rihanna continues to prove why she unstoppable. With two performances down and two more to go, Rihanna is really blowing up the spotlight tonight at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. As her outfit, makeup and hair slays, her nails really looked amazing. In fact, the iconic pop star teamed up with celebrity manicurist Kimmie Kyees for a haute nail look.

“Rihanna will be on stage multiple times during this year’s VMA’s,” Rihanna's manicurist, Kimmie Kyees shared. “We wanted to find a color that would match any outfit and makeup changes she may have throughout the show– so we chose a beautiful mauve color with a subtle shimmer that looks gorgeous against her skin tone,” she added.

So, is it possible to get Rihanna's nails at-home? Absolutely.

According to Kyees, Rihanna’s nails were filed into a narrow, pointy stiletto shape and then polished with Red Carpet Manicure’s newest formula – the instant gel manicure. This polish requires no base or top coat, which is amazing. For Rihanna's nails, Kyees used the Red Carpet Manicure Red Carpet Ready 1-Step LED Gel Polish in Hopeless Romantic, a stunning mauve with a shimmer finish.

Kyees proceeded to brush on the color, cured it for about 30 seconds and then the iconic Rihanna was ready for what should be one of RiRi’s most iconic VMAs yet.

Congratulations! You have just recreated Rihanna's nails for the 2016 Video Music Awards. #VMAs

NARS Nail Polish in Disco Inferno

NARS Nail Polish in Disco Inferno. It's an iridescent green with mauve optics. The green is quite stunning and modestly cool yet lighter than expected. To be honest, despite being different I still love it. My only con would be that this polish could have been a little more pigmented. The color payoff isn't the greatest, as it takes quite a few quotes to achieve the desired shade. In spite of this particular weakness, however, this polish is relatively long-lasting.

NARS is currently having a great sale. If you spend $50, you will get free shipping + a free sample. Want to know more? Simply click here today.
