Get the Hair: Kate Spade NYFW Fall 2019

show at NYFW
for Fall 2019.
As New York City was a rather gloomy day today, what really spiced up the big apple was Kate Spade's newest fall collection. Everything from the unique styles as well as use of prints, it is everything that is expected from a Kate Spade collection. Fun and fabulous was definitely brought into creation of this collection. And earlier this evening, Kate Spade proved why she was truly an iconic woman of fashion as she was clearly a woman with a vision, a vision that will last a lifetime in the world of fashion.

Although the styles were fantastic, the makeup looked great. However, it was the hair which really complemented the models, the style and in short - brought the designs to life. Compliments of Odile Gilbert, the TRESemmé NYFW Stylist, the hair was the real winner of the show. And for several years now, TRESemmé has been the official hair sponsor of the biggest fashion event in NYC.

So, is it possible to re-create this hair look at home? Absolutely.

First and foremost, the TRESemmé NYFW Stylist started by washing the models' hair with the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shampoo and TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Conditioner. She wanted to create a very sleek yet smooth foundation, hence why she chose these two terrific TRESemmé additions.

Next, Gilbert parted the models' hair. She applied the TRESemmé Thermal Creations Blow Dry Accelerator Spray shortly before taking a round brush and fully blowing out the hair. She continued by pulling the hair directly down, as her goal for this hair look was to create individual sections, giving the models for the Kate Spade show a very sleep and smooth appearance.

As she continued, she applied the TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protect Spray to simply protect the hair and prevent damage. Taking a large curling iron courtesy of ghd, the celebrity stylist gently wrapped the ends of the hair inward just before letting go, creating a soft curl. This added extra bounce and body to the models' hair.

To finish the look, Odile Gilbert sprayed the TRESemmé Compressed Micro-Mist Hold Level 4 Hairspray to the models hair.

“To get this polished and sophisticated look, blow dry the hair straight and then use a curling iron to tuck the ends of the hair inwards, creating a smooth and chic finish. Lock the look in with the TRESemmé Compressed Micro-Mist Hold Level 4 Hairspray,” Gilbert shared.

As she lightly misted their hair, the celebrity stylist mentioned that she did this because she wanted to add a glossy finish to the hair and to keep the hair in place without the stiffness that most hair sprays tend to create.

Kate Spade was a world-renowned designer who created a $2.5 billion fashion empire directly from her NYC apartment. And although she is gone, she will never be forgotten as her legacy will remain forever. RIP Kate (1962-2018) #NYFW

Get the makeup look: Nicholas K Fall/Winter 2017 NYFW

A look at the makeup for the Nicholas K
FW'17 show.
(Photo provided by Bollare)
New York Fashion Week kicked off late last week in the heart of the big apple. As the most world-renowned fashion event in the city that never sleeps, fashion week delivers some of the hottest (and hautest) collections from some of your favorite designers and labels. And in spite of the heavy snow fall and chilling temperatures NYFW was in full effect Thursday especially when Nicholas K debuted their collection for Fall/Winter 2017. As the collection had somewhat of an urban chic flair, it also embodied an essence of street wear we don't see too often. And as the designs shined the runway, the makeup on the models really complemented them and as a result, brought the entire look together. For the Nicholas K show, the models were glammed by Sarah Lucero, Global Executive Director of Creative Artistry.

Lucero was inspired by the gold pieces and accessories in the new collection, she decided to create a look to complement this. With so many options, she decided to go with a beautiful gold eye and a neutral lip.

So, is it possible to recreate this look at-home? Absolutely.

First and foremost, Lucero started prepping the models' skin. When doing any kind of makeup look it is so important to start with a clean face. Making sure the lips are exfoliated, hydrated and moisturized, the celebrity makeup artist also brushed the models' eyebrows.

As she continued, she cleaned up the brows before filling them in. Taking the Stila All Day Waterproof Brow Color, the celebrity MUA began brushing, feathering and shaping the models' brows.

Then, Lucero used the Stila All Day Foundation, while correcting the skin minimally. This not only gives the face dimension, but some depth which really stands true as a natural contour.

Sarah, then, started using the new Stila Matte 'n Metal Eyeshadow Palette, where she used shades that complemented the skin tone of the models. Before doing this; however, the makeup artist warmed the eye using a light transitional shade from the Stila essential.

Using primarily matte eyeshadow shades, Lucero took the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in Glow Goddess and lined both the upper and lower lash line of the models' eyes. She, then, finished with a few coats of the Stila Huge Mascara.

Although the foundation worked to enhance the models faces for this look, the celebrity makeup artist decided to add some amazing contour to this look. For this particular look, she used the Stila Shape & Shade Custom Contour Duo along the cheekbone giving it both dimension and depth.

To finish the entire makeup look, the Global Executive Director of Creative Artistry used the new Stila Color Calm Balm Grayson, which works to also prime the lips. Then, she applied the Stila Lip Glaze in Apricot.

Congratulations! You have just recreated the models' makeup look for the Nicholas K Fall/Winter 2017 show. #NYFW

Get the makeup look: Marc Jacobs at NYFW SS'17

2017 show at NYFW.

Marc Jacobs is one of the most creative and innovative minds in all of fashion. He is one of the few designers in the world that fearless and isn't afraid to do things outside of the box. When he debuted his Spring/Summer collection for 2017 at New York Fashion Week recently, the iconic fashion designer wasn't afraid to challenge status quo by creating a collection filled with color and culture. As the designs were unique, the models hair made quite a statement. However, the makeup slayed and really brought the entire looks together. In fact, the models for the Marc Jacobs show teamed up with the one and only Francois Nars, the founder and creative director of NARS Cosmetics for six unique looks to complement the fashion.
"We matched the color of the eye makeup to the clothes and hair and created six different beauty looks using pastel colors. Lashes were applied to help define the eye, the face was kept clean with a little makeup and the brows were brushed up and natural," Nars shared.
So, is it possible to recreate these amazing looks at home? Absolutely.
First and foremost, Nars prepped the models skin. He applied the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. If you are searching for an outstanding moisturizer with a hint of color, I highly recommend this one. He, then, applied the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer. As this product is due to launch in Spring of 2017, the perfect alternative would be the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. This product is one of my favorite beauty essentials right now. The amazing makeup artist finished the face with the NARS Soft Velvet Loose Powder.
For the first look, Nars decided to go with purple, as this is one of the shades that complements the actual clothes and hair. He used the NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Desdemona and in Phoebe.
For the second look, the NARS creative director and founder wanted to create a look with pink. Like the purple shade, the pink is one of the shades of the designs. Nars used the NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Desdemona, Phoebe and in Callisto.
For the third look, the celebrity makeup artist decided to create a look using Silver. Silver is a haute transitional shade and really works for every season. For this look, he used the NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Lysithea and in Interstellar.
For the fourth look, Francois took a step outside of the box and decided to use green. He applied the right side of the NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Earth Angel followed by the NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Tarvos.
For the fifth look, Nars emphasized in using blue shades, as these shades truly complement the clothing and the hair for the Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2017. For this look, he used the NARS Velvet Shadow Stick in Grande-Large. As this product is not due out until Spring of 2017, an amazing alternative for now would be the NARS Larger Than Life Eyeliner in Khao San Road. He, then used the left side of the NARS Duo Eyeshadow.
And for the final look, the sixth look, he heavily embraced copper. The world-renowned makeup artist used the NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Mediteranee followed by the NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Isolde and the NARS Matte Eyeshadow in Persia.
To finish the look, Nars used the NARS Lip Gloss in Triple X.
Congratulations! You have just recreated the makeup looks for the Marc Jacobs show at New York Fashion Week. #NYFW

Get the makeup look: Zero+Maria Cornejo at NYFW SS'17

One of the thing that I love most about fashion week is the originality. As the clothing and accessories look beautiful, the models do too. And as the clothing depicts a sense of pure imagination, their creators are bold and care-free when creating their fashion. In the case of Zero+Maria Cornejo, the collection was very soft, as the models were wearing white and did not wear any shoes on the runway. As the pieces were pure, the makeup really complemented the entire show. Courtesy of Dick Page, Shiseido's Artistic Director the models were treated to a very gentle and easy-looking makeup look.

"Maria's collection this season was very pure. The models were barefoot on the runway and wore only white; because of this. I created a 'melted' makeup look that was very gentle and easy-looking," Page shared. "I wanted to complement the clothing with a neutral yet "scruffy" look, which was inspired by a photograph of Charlotte Rampling taken by Arthur Elgort featuring a smudged glossy eye and messy hair."

So, is it possible to recreate this makeup look at home? Absolutely.

First and foremost, Page prepped the models faces and emphasized on using moisturizer for a natural "no makeup" skin look. Shiseido's Artistic Director created a healthy, natural glow using an unique blend of the Shiseido Rouge Rouge in Sweet Desire and the Shiseido Rouge Rouge in Rose Crush. Page applied this as a stain to the apples of the cheeks and the bridge of the nose using a blush brush.

For the eyes, Page used the Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Leather. This was painted close to the top of the models' top and bottom lash lines. This product was also applied with a fluffy brush to blend the bottom liner and the top liner up onto the eyelid. Then, Page used his fingers to "mess up" the lower lash line to create a less perfect yet pristine look. To complete the eyes, Page used the Shiseido Benefiance Full Correction Lip Treatment to slightly melt the makeup.

As Page continued, he used the Shiseido Eyebrow Styling Compact in Deep Brown on the models' brows. He wanted to both strengthen and fill the brows for a natural look.

And like the face, the lips were also kept soft and natural. Page finished the look by using the Shiseido Benefiance Full Correction Lip Treatment.

Congratulations! You have just recreated the makeup look for the Zero+Maria Cornejo at New York Fashion Week. #ShiseidoFW #NYFW

Get the makeup look: Alexander Wang at NYFW SS'17

As New York Fashion Week continues, so does the anticipated level of excitement in the big apple. As the city that never sleeps holds this internationally known event, we can expect the unexpected. Alexander Wang debuted his Spring and Summer 2017 collection with lots of white and pure pieces with some minor shades of black. As everything was basically beautiful, the designs truly depict a story that really embraces the Spring and Summer season. The models' hair looked amazing, but the makeup really brought the entire looks together. The models for the show teamed up with makeup artist Diane Kendal for NARS Cosmetics.

"The beauty inspiration is surfer beach girl. It's that look and natural color that someone gets if their skin has been kissed by the sun," Kendal shared.

So, is it possible to recreate this makeup look at home? Absolutely.

First and foremost, Kendal prepped the face using the NARSskin Luminous Moisture Cream. She, then used the NARSskin Total Replenishing Eye Cream. When it comes to any kind of show, it is important that the skin remain hydrated.

As Kendal continued, she applied the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation followed by the NARS Stick Concealer. The skin was left modestly natural, so the NARS makeup artist used the NARS Multiple in Cappadoce, Altai, Vientiane, and Portofino.

To finish the look, Kendal used the NARS Stick Concealer on the lips.

Congratulations! You have just recreated the makeup look for the Alexander Wang show at New York Fashion Week. #NYFW

Get the hair look: Kate Spade at NYFW Fall'16

Kate Spade is one of the greatest brands in the world today. This internationally known fashion house of hautness debuted their collection for Fall 2016. As the pieces were immaculately simple, they featured elegant, fashion-forward designs that were quite effortless. And as the makeup complemented the look, the hair really stood out. Featuring a natural blowout style courtesy of TRESemme stylist Bob Recine, this particular look brought everything together.

"Use a soft bristle brush once the look is finished. It's an easy way to create some natural texture and pull out some flyways for a lived in feel," Recine shared about the hair look.

So, is it possible to recreate this hair look at home? Yes.

First and foremost, Recine started prepping the models hair by using the TRESemme Beauty-Full Volume reverse wash system. This system uses the TRESemme Pre-Wash Conditioner followed by the Shampoo which works to soften the hair and wash away any weight.

Taking a small, golf ball sized amount of TRESemme Beautiful Volume Mousse, Recine used his fingers and gently combed this through the models' hair. Taking a blow dryer, the TRESemme stylist began to blow dry the hair straight using his fingers. It is important to not rough up the hair too much, as you will want to allow your hair to fall in its natural part. This is what Recine did with the models' hair at the Kate Spade show.

Then, Recine applied a light spritz of the TRESemme Botanique Damage Recovery Oil Elixir for added healthy shine. As he continued with the look, he began rolling a hair straightener down the top sections. Taking the hair straightener from root-to-tip, Recine kept his hand moving to create a soft, delicate wave.

To finish the look, Recine sprayed the TRESemme Beauty-Full Volume Hairspray.

Get the makeup look: Noon by Noor at NYFW SS'17

If you are a fashion enthusiast who enjoys the latest and greatest pieces more than likely you are a huge fan of fashion week, as this is the only week where a fashion house and designer can debut their latest and greatest collection. Noon by Noor is a collection that embraces a modernized minimalist appeal that is innocent and clean. As the hair was kept modestly simple, the makeup really complemented the individual designs. The models from the Noon by Noor show teamed up with NARS International Lead Makeup Stylist, Uzo for a soft makeup look.

"Noon by Noor wanted a romantic, but minimal beauty look with the eyes as the focus. The eyes feature clean, precise and graphic white eyeliner, while the rest of the face was kept bare, glossy and healthy-looking with a faint of rose on the cheeks," Uzo shared.

So, is it possible to recreate this makeup look at home? Absolutely.

First and foremost, Uzo prepped the models faces with the NARSskin Luminous Moisture Cream followed by the NARSskin Total Replenishing Eye Cream. For this particular look, Uzo applied the NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer. As this product is new and due to launch in Spring of 2017, an amazing alternative is the NARS Stick Concealer or NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.

As the makeup stylist continued, she applied the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Get Off. As this product is due to launch in Spring 2017, a great alternative is the NARS Sheer Lipstick in Cruising.

The eyes are the primary focus of the look and really bring it to life. For this look, Uzo used and applied the NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Kalahari, the NARS Velvet Eyeliner in Las Pozas, and the NARS Lip Gloss in Triple X. She, then, applied several coats of the NARS Audacious Mascara. For the brows, she used the NARS Brow Gel in Oural and the NARS Brow Defining Cream.

To finish the look, Uzo applied the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Get Off.

Congratulations! You have just recreated the makeup look from the Noon by Noor show for Spring and Summer 2017 at New York Fashion Week. #NYFW

Get the hair look: Misha Nonoo at NYFW SS'17

Misha Nonoo at NYFW for Spring/Summer 2017.
The big apple is quite possibly the most exciting city in the world. And it just got even more exciting this week with the start of New York Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2017. As one of the hottest events on earth, fashion houses and designers debut their collections for the Spring and Summer season for next year. One of those designers is Misha Nonoo. As unique as the styles are, what made this event really stand out was the grungy tousled tresses of the models. Thanks to New York Fashion Week Ambassador for TRESemme, Chris Naselli was able to create a haute hair look to complement the style.

"Keep your roots matte and apply gloss only to the ends, this will give you naturally looking hair and shine where it matters," Chris Naselli shared in regards to the grungy tousled wave hair look.

So, is it possible to recreate this hair look at home? Absolutely.

First and foremost, Naselli washed the models hair with the TRESemme Botanique Nourish & Replenish Shampoo and the TRESemme Botanique Nourish & Replenish Conditioner. As he continued, he applied a few drops of the TRESemme Botanique Damage Recovery Oil Elixir from the mid-shaft of the hair all of the way through the ends.

Then, the TRESemme stylist took his hair dryer and began to rough dry the models' hair. As he continued, he began to part the models' hair in the middle to work in natural texture. He, then, began to pull one inch sections of hair randomly from the crown of the head before using a curling iron to create zig zag bends.

What did he do next? Naselli took his fingertips and began breaking the zig zag sections apart with his fingers before generously spritzing the TRESemme Botanique Nourish & Replenish Hydrating Mist.

To finish the look, Naselli sprayed the TRESemme TRES Extra Firm Control Hairspray.

Congratulations! You have just recreated the hair look at the Misha Nonoo Spring/Summer 2017 show at New York Fashion Week. #NYFW

Get the hair look: Herve Leger at Fall/Winter 2016 NYFW

Hervé Léger at Fall/Winter
NYFW for 2016.
for NYFW: The Shows)
Hervé Léger is a world-renowned French fashion house created by Hervé L. Leroux. Created over 30 years ago, Hervé Léger created the classic bandage dress in a strong effort to mold and shape a woman's figure. Over 18 years ago, the brand was acquired by BCBG Max Azria. Then, in 2007 it was relaunched by Azria before finally being present as Hervé Léger by Max Azria in 2008.

Today, the brand is stronger than ever. As Hervé Léger introduced their newest collection for Fall and Winter, the show also had quite a few other surprises other than haute designs. As the official hair care sponsor of New York Fashion Week, TRESemmé's Orlando Pita gave the models a very chic, twisted punk braid.

“We wanted the hair to make a statement and Lubov Azria’s punk inspired collection was the perfect opportunity to do so. This style allows women to take a classic look and give it a grungy accent, so that they can channel their inner tomboy.”- Orlando Pita, New York Fashion Week Ambassador for TRESemmé told me.

So, is it possible to re-create this hair look at home? Absolutely.

First and foremost, you are going to want to shampoo and condition your hair. For this particular look, Pita started with the with the TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Shampoo and Conditioner as a base. The Perfectly (un)Done collection from TRESemmé will create effortless waves. As you continue, you are going to want to apply a small amount of the TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam to the roots. Then, you are going to want to rough dry the hair, as this will enhance the hair's natural texture.

Then, you want to create an uneven deep side part. Now, you are going to want to begin plaiting and twisting from the forehead all of the way to the back of the neck. As you continue, you are going to want to the secure twisted plait with a small elastic and bobby pins, allowing only small strands to fall out. Taking a flat iron, you are going to want to run it over the top of the hair at the part line.

Then, shake hair over the shoulders to cover up the end of the braid. To finish the hair look, apply the TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Brushable Hold Hairspray for touchable hold.

Congratulations! You have just re-created the Hervé Léger hair for the Fall and Winter collection at New York Fashion Week. #NYFW
