TBT: Me at four years old

It is amazing how fast time flies. And especially after everything I have been through in my life, some days I find it hard to believe I am still here, living in this crazy world. I was talking to mother the other day and we reminisced about life. We were going through old pictures including baby pictures of me.

I found this photo of me and wanted to share this picture for Throwback Thursday, as I originally shared this with my amazing boyfriend Sumit. This was taken in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania back in the early-to-mid 80's. I want to say maybe 1985? I will have to get validation from my mother, as she would know more so than me. Although the photograph originally has color, I made it black and white as I think it makes more vintage looking.

My grandfather in the picture is deceased and died several years after from lung cancer. From what I remember, he was a wonderful grandfather. He is my mother's father. My grandmother who is also in the photo is deceased and died back in the early 2000's. She was my mother's mom. She was also my best friend, so I really took her death hard.

It is truly astounding the memory that comes to life when you look at one simple photograph. In this case, although my memories are somewhat vague when looking at this one, I remember this day and find myself reminded that life only continues.

Fashion Talk: My Style Is Unique

I have always thought my style was unique. I think that is why I never really blended in with the average crowd. In high school I was mocked, in college I was praised, and in everyday life--people are amazed at my style. As a businesswoman, I find myself shopping for dresses or anything of an elegant yet conservative nature because that is the kind of clothing I am most comfortable in. It is not that I am opposed to wearing anything else, it is just me.

I am a size 5 and have been this size for most of my life. I am 5'2-5'3, so that is a curvy size. At least for me. My weight tends to fluctuate. I have been called skinny and I've been called fat. I have been skinnier than what I am now and I have been fatter than what I am now. In end, what others think is none of my concern, as what I think matters most.

In regards to my style, there are quite a few things that I love, many things that I hate, and a lot of things I simply debate whether or not to wear them or at least wear them again. Does that make sense?

When I am at work, I wear primarily business clothing. This can be anything from sophisticated suits to swanky slacks to upscale casual. I never wear anything too flashy or formal as my everyday attire is subdued. Now, when I go out, I like to wear clothing a little more lavish, but even then I am never too flashy nor formal.

Some dresses that I am loving at the moment include: Givenchy Beaded Long Sleeve DressBoden Tilly Ottoman Belted Sheath Dress, Carolina Herrera Oleander Print Silk Fit & Flare DressTed Baker London Hedgerow Flounce Sleeve Body-Con Dress, Galvan Sequin Long Sleeve Cocktail Mini Dress, Carolina Herrera Leaf Print Stretch Cotton DressHVN Paula Deep V-Neck Sequin DressAlice + Olivia Delora Body Con Dress, and almost every dress at Herve Leger with the exception of Maxi dresses as they tend to not look the best on me. Perhaps it is because I am short or the fact that I am not a size 0. Who knows.

When it comes to print, I am not the biggest fan in spite of me wearing zebra print in my photo. But all of the dresses at Pinup Girl Clothing are truly beautiful and designed with so much heart by the talented Laura Byrnes from California who I admire and respect. Versace has been really obsessed with creating zebra print lately and I am not really too sure what to think of it.

I absolutely love stretch knit trousers, boot leg suit pants, pencil skirts, a-line skirts, and anything that can complement a majority of my wardrobe. I also love double breasted blazers and one-button blazers. And speaking of blazers and jackets, the Dolce & Gabbana Double Breasted Stretch Wool Blend Jacket is stunning. What do you think? I am not a fan of wool. In fact, it makes me itch, but I would wear the Judith & Charles Matera Wool Suit Jacket if it were made with faux wool.

Now a lot of you have messaged me and asked what my favorite pair of jeans are. To be honest, I don't really wear jeans unless they are of a higher quality simply because of my body shape. I find that high-end jeans fit me best. I prefer straight-leg and skinny jeans to boot cut, flare, and wide leg. I am also fond of some of the legging style jeans. Not necessarily a jegging, but a denim legging, although I some of my favorite pairs of jeans are actually denim leggings.

Some of my favorite jeans include the Isabel Marant Etoile Jamie High Waist Skinny Jeans and the LYSSE High Waist Denim Leggings. I would probably make an exception for the L'AGENCE Margot Metallic Coated Crop Skinny Jeans as they are beautiful. I love corduroy jeans. I own several pairs of the Kut From The Kloth Diana Stretch Corduroy Skinny Pants.

I love athletic wear (or activewear) and find myself wearing a lot of yoga pants. They are what I am truly comfortable in. In fact, if I had it my way, I would wear nothing, but v-neck shirts, hoodies, and yoga pants all day. Of course capri leggings, gym shorts, and crew socks have me sold too. I have to admit, I am quite conservative when it comes to my gym style and don't like to show any skin at all, so to me a hoodie and shorts is okay in my book.

As much as I love activewear, I can't choose a favorite for each thing that I truly enjoy, but I can share with you some of my favorite brands. They include: Zella, Nike, Adidas, Calvin Klein, BCBGMaxAzria, and much more.

I despise jumpsuits, but manage to love the Joie Tau Jumpsuit, which is probably one of the few I will ever wear. Although the Balmain Beaded Sequin Jumpsuit I would probably wear. Rompers are probably one of the worst thing to ever happen to fashion and I am not saying this because they look the least flattering on me. I am saying this because they look like a permanent faux pas.

Other things I will not wear include: halter tops, halter dresses, color block gowns, tube tops, cheesy biker shorts, jumper dresses, ruched sleeve jackets, long cady pants, oversized blazers, asymmetrical midi dress, elbow patch coats, or anything with shoulder pads. Just not my thing.

I will get into a deeper discussion about fashion very soon. We will talk shoes and accessories later on. Until next time, take care of yourself and your style. Have a wonderful evening!

Black Smokey Eye

Me today.
Today has been a great day. I hope it has been a great day for you too. As for my day, I worked from 9 am until 5 pm. Then, went home and took the selfies I am sharing with you today. After wards, I had a wonderful shower. In spite of contemplating what to make for dinner, I must admit that pleasantly surprised at how great my black smoky eye turned out today and how well my makeup stayed on.

I decided to go a little dramatic today for work (something that I don't normally like to do when I go to work considering I work in a more office environment) and went with a light lip and dramatic black smoky eye. And considering most of my readers are either here for my beauty content or Morgan Ingram, I decided that I would share what I did to achieve this look.

Amazing makeup is always supported with great skin care. When I woke this morning, I had a wonderful shower. My secret to amazing skin is always exfoliating. I exfoliate in the shower all of the time and when I just do my regular skincare routine I exfoliate also. I am obsessed with the Chuda Exfoliating Cleanser. If I had to choose a favorite right now, it is this one. It is not only effective, it's gentle and proves why it is the holy grail of face scrubs. At least in my opinion. I also love that I can do everything in one step.

When I wake up, I love to moisturize. No matter what kind of climate it is, I like to have hydration. I don't like to use face treatments on my face when I go to work, but will occasionally use a good serum. I do; however, love to use a good moisturizer. As I have tried many, I really love the Giorgio Armani Beauty Prima Glow-On Moisturizing Balm. It is literally a holy grail in skincare and makes my face feel ultimately amazing.

Before applying makeup, especially heavier or more dramatic makeup I love to spray setting spray. I love a lot of them, but right now I really love the Make Up For Ever Mix and Fix Makeup Setting Spray. It is probably my favorite right now if I had to choose.

The rest of the products I used today include:

Japonesque Radiance Primer, LORAC POREfection Foundation in the shade PR3, Estee Lauder Double Matte Pressed Powder in Light, Rouge Bunny Rouge 'Seas of Illumination' Highlighting Liquid in the shade Sea of Clouds (quite possibly my favorite liquid highlighter right now) and KKW Beauty Cream Contour Stick in the shade in the shades Light/Medium and Medium II. (for face)

Smashbox Cosmetics 24 Hour Shadow Primer in the shade Barely There Sheer, KIKO Milano Glitter Shower Eyeshadow in the shade 01 Silver Champagne, OFRA Cosmetics Eyeshadow in the shade Exquisite, Kylie Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Jack Frost, Shu Uemura Pressed Eye Shadow in M Black 990 A, Ellis Faas Lights in E301 Antique Silver (I love this eyeshadow), Lancome Cils Booster XL, and Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lash Mascara in the shade Black. (for eyes)

Benefit Cosmetics BROWVO! and Benefit Cosmetics Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil in the shade in 5 (for brows)

Elizabeth Arden Lip Fix, Merle Norman Lipliner in Neutral, Lipstick Queen Ice Queen Lipstick and Ellis Faas Lights in E301 Antique Silver. (for lips)

In case you are wondering, the dress (although you cannot see it) is black and is from White House Black Market. I wore a blazer with it by NIC+ZOE. The shoes I wore with it (although you cannot see them) are from Prada. And the jewelry is from Totaram

For my hair, I used L'ANZA Shampoo followed by the L'ANZA Conditioner. Additionally, I used the Umberto Beverly Hills Hair Repair Mask (and I am almost out and this product is almost impossible to find. If you see it anywhere on or offline please let me know), Matrix Total Results Mega Sleek Mega Varnish with one of my favorite combs ever, the Cricket Ultra Smooth Coconut Detangler Comb. And I decided to use ZOYA Nail Polish in Genesis on my nails.

Other products or things that I currently enjoy, that I am kind of obsessed with at the moment include:

Goutal Paris Rose Pompon Eau De ParfumCosmedix Opti Crystal Eye Serum, La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Cream, LeBody FormVLCC Diamond Facial Kit, Sol Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum CreamEvolve Toothbrush, The Eterno LED Red Light Therapy Device and everything from The Perfect V. And I know I am forgetting a few things here. (beauty)

Good food (although I think that is everyday), PUBG Mobile, PUBG on PS4, cooking anything Indian, making vegan smoothies, Lassi and doogh of all flavors, Serial Podcast, The Precor AMT 885 Adaptive Motion Trainer, Monster Energy Juice Drink in the flavor Mango Loco, taking pictures of my home garden, drinking pineapple juice before bed, oil pulling, Investing.com and anything political that deals with the conservative side of the spectrum. (non-beauty)

And there you have it. Now, I have to make dinner and also decide what I am making (and baking) tomorrow for the fourth of July. As I love America, I think my favorite thing about Independence Day is the food.

Why? Because I truly believe food is a need and really dictates and defines culture in it's diverse role. When you travel anywhere, you will notice the food is one of the first things outsiders tend to notice. And lets face it, nothing is better than enjoying wonderful food with family and friends. I am sure tomorrow will be a great day.

Anyways, have a wonderful day!

The last Sunday of October 2018

Me today.
Hello everyone. It is officially the last Sunday of October. As we fly into Fall, I can only think about the work week ahead. I've garnered a fondness for multitasking and am now discovering this to be one of my strongest virtues. Perhaps, I have no choice other than to work on multiple things at once, as that is the only way to get the job done.

Today I decided to do my basic home chores in the early morning (cleaning, laundry, etc.) before making my way to grocery market to buy a few things. Recently, I am really loving Albertsons. Not only do they have a great selection of produce and cheese, but vegetarian alternatives, including some of my personal favorites. I also love the customer service there too.

I saw a bunch of fresh red bananas and the sales associate was so kind of ask if I wanted to try one. I had tried them before and although they are good, they fail in comparison to match the traditional yellow. And it seems like every single time I inquire about something in the store, I am always offered a sample. I literally would love to go to every Albertson's store in the United States and review them each individually.

I'm rambling, I know.

Anyways, today, I decided to not do full glam, but embrace more of a natural yet wearable look. Although my makeup is visible, as you can see from today's photo, I wanted to just enhance my features. For today's selfie, I used the following makeup products:

Smashbox Cosmetics 24 Hour Shadow Primer in the shade Barely-There Sheer, By Terry Eye Designer Palette in 1 Smoky Nude, Motives Waterproof Eye Pencil in the shade Black Magic, Chantecaille Luster Glide Silk Eyeliner in the shade Slate, and Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara in Black. (Eyes)

Motives Lip Crayon in the shade Dusty Rose and Motives Maven Matte Lipstick in the shade Reveal Me. (Lips)

And in case you are wondering where my dress (although you cannot see much of it) is from, it is from Hot Miami Styles.

Additionally, I am really loving and appreciating the Bhagavad Gita. In case you are wondering what it is a Hindu scripture written by Lord Krishna. It is quite possibly one of the most inspiring texts I have read. It is modestly complex, as the translation is in old English. I've read it multiple times and find myself still looking at it when I can. Needless to say, I am quite inspired.

I hope you are having a wonderful day. As much as I am contemplating and debating whether I want to go to the gym and workout for a few, I've decided that I want to take a nice relaxing bath and catch up on some much needed sleep. Today is national chocolate day, so I may take serious advantage.

Have an amazing day!

FOTD: May 20, 2018

I know I haven't been active on this blog as much I would like to be, hence why I am writing this message tonight. I guess you can say that I am very busy with my life. I work full-time during the day and managed to take on an additional part-time job in the evening for some extra money.

In addition to this, I have a new man in my life. It has been over a year (late 2016, to be exact) since I had anyone in my life, so when I met Sumit (my new boyfriend) I guess you could say my life has been busier than ever before.

I have so much to be thankful for as I have so much to be proud of. I am very content in my life, but I know that my life can be much better than what it is. I've noticed a pattern; however, when thinking, that I tend to overthink more than I should. That overthinking is worse than thinking, as overthinking is worse than not thinking at all. I've come to realization that overthinking is a sign of rumination (and ruination) and can do more harm than good.

When it comes to overthinking, I truly believe that it can create problems. Especially problems that do not exist. Instead of living happily in the moment, I always think hypothetically. "What if this happens?" or "What if this doesn't happen?" And thinking hypothetically truly has no solution, as it is clearly the wrong way to think. When you start to overthink, you tend to dip into the realm of the hypothetical. This isn't good.

I've been really looking at my life practically. What can I do to improve without overthinking about it? What can I do to make it better than what it is without thinking hypothetically? Recognizing and acknowledging the problem is vital, as is eliminating it without giving it too much value. That is my approach to solving my own problems and it works.

Today I realize how much I love the Japonesque Velvet Touch PrimerLa Prairie Skin Caviar Foundation + Concealer, KIKO Milano Sculpting Touch Creamy Contour StickUrban Decay Eyeshadow in Serious, Smokeout and in Loaded, eyeko Fat Liquid EyelinerEstee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara, Benefit Cosmetics Goof Proof Eyebrow Pencil and Kylie Cosmetics Velvet Lipstick in Commando and in Bare. And in case you are wondering why, these are the products I am wearing it in my photos today. I also want to add that I am also very obsessed with applying the Giorgio Armani Beauty Armani Prima Glow-On Moisturizing Balm to my face before applying any makeup. This product is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

On a serious note, I haven't ate all day long, so I am thinking of having something great for dinner. As much as I want to have pasta, I am kind of too exhausted to cook right now, so perhaps I may just order a pizza from the local pizza joint here in town. In fact, that is what I will do right now. I hope everyone is doing well and having an amazing evening.
