Back in 2006, while enjoying a night out at a lively bar in Athens, Georgia with my dear friend Rene Baran, a random man approached me with an offer to buy me a drink. As I contemplated what to order, I felt inspired to create something unique that would capture the essence of that moment. Thus, “The Exotic Sarah” was born—a vibrant cocktail that perfectly blends flavors and transports you to a tropical, exotic paradise with every sip.


Ingredients for The Exotic Sarah:


- 1 oz Rum

- 1 oz Amaretto Liqueur

- 1 oz Peach Schnapps

- 1 oz Raspberry Liqueur

- 4 oz Fruit Punch


Instructions:


1. In a shaker filled with ice, combine the rum, amaretto liqueur, peach schnapps, raspberry liqueur, and fruit punch.

2. Shake well until chilled.

3. Strain into a tall glass filled with ice.

4. Garnish with fresh fruit or a colorful cocktail umbrella for that extra flair.

Shot Variation: The Extremely Exotic Sarah


For those looking for an even bolder experience, I also created a shot variation called “The Extremely Exotic Sarah.” This shot is a delightful mix of flavors that packs a punch!


Ingredients for The Extremely Exotic Sarah:


- 1/2 oz Rum

- 1/2 oz Vodka

- 1/2 oz Gin

- 1/2 oz Amaretto Liqueur

- 1/2 oz Banana Liqueur

- 1/2 oz Coconut Liqueur

- 1/2 oz Melon Liqueur


Instructions:


1. In a shaker filled with ice, combine all the ingredients.

2. Shake vigorously until well mixed.

3. Strain into shot glasses and serve immediately.


As I reminisce about that night, I can’t help, but smile at how a simple “You are so beautiful. Can I buy you a drink?” led to the creation of this delightful cocktail.
