In My Defence by Sarah Afshar

When I first heard this song, I was literally floored. I was watching a Freddie Mercury documentary many years ago. The documentary featured a lot of songs that were not so popular, as they were part of Freddie's solo album. In fact, they played excerpts of Mr. Bad Guy. I discovered this song when listening to the album and have loved it ever since.

The song is just a beautiful ballad with a lot of rock and soul to make it roll. It is one of my favorite songs by Freddie. You know me, I just had to record this one on Smule. I originally recorded this as a duet back in January with another Smule user. You can listen to that recording here. Tonight, I recorded the song solo.

To listen to my rendition of "In My Defence" just watch (or listen) to the video above. If you cannot hear it, simply click here now. And BTW, I recorded this using my iPhone straight from the Smule app.

Zombie (Piano) by Sarah Afshar

Zombie is about political expression. The message is so clear and the fact that Dolores O'Riordan refused $1 million just so release this amazingly epic song proves how iconic it really is.

I decided to cover it, as I found myself on Smule once again this evening. The piano version adds a very hauntingly beautiful appeal that you can't get with the original as it is more of a ballad versus the original, which is more upbeat.

Check out the video above. If you can't hear it, just click here. Remember to listen with headphones.

Is Lady Gaga starting her own beauty brand?

Lady Gaga is a woman of many talents, as she is a singer, songwriter, and now actress. But what I find fascinating is how recently when browsing Justia, I discovered the beauty brand "Haus Beauty" when looking at the beauty brand trademarks. Upon independent research, I discovered that the same trademark is owned by "Ate My Heart Inc." which own various trademarks including the "Lady Gaga" name, "Monster", "Jo Calderone", "Haus of Gaga", "Lady Gaga Fame", "Eau De Gaga", "Miss Asia Kinney", "Haus Labs" and her newest, Haus Beauty.

Now I do believe some of these names are already active, as Lady Gaga "Fame" was her fragrance she sold back in 2012. Although her fragrance smelled great, it lacked silage and left an awkward gray stain on if made in contact with clothing. The body of the bottle itself was unique and definitely epitomized who Gaga represented at the time.

I do believe the other names are current including her own; however, I think Haus Beauty is very new which tells me this will be the name of a project in the near future. I also think Haus Labs will be her very own laboratory and/or manufacturer. With so many entertainers creating their own beauty brands (Rihanna's Fenty Beauty being one of the latest), I think it will be great for Lady Gaga to follow as her makeup always looks amazing.

I am thinking Lady Gaga is going to start a true beauty empire based on these names. As one can only hope, we can only speculate what her plans are. So, I think we may learn more about her beauty business ventures in 2019. I don't know about you, but I really love Lady Gaga and cannot wait to see what she does next.

Anyway by Martina McBride

God is great, but sometimes life ain't good are wise words to live by as they are part of this amazing song by Martina McBride. Anyway is literally one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It is so inspirational and filled with so many truthful verses. I literally can relate to this song. And if you dislike country music, you will love it after hearing this song.

You know me, if I love a song, I have to sing it on Smule. And that is exactly what I did tonight. I originally recorded the song on May 4th of this year. You can listen to that version here.
'
Tonight I decided to tackle the song again using barely any filters. To listen to my rendition of Anyway, watch the video above. If the video doesn't play, just click here to listen. Listen with headphones, as I think I pretty much recommend in every blog post I make about this.

From This Moment On by Sarah Afshar

From This Moment On is the reason I started loving and appreciating country music. The song is literally one of the most beautiful love songs I have ever heard. The first time I heard it, I was 17 years. Shania Twain was popular for many years prior; however, she gained huge stardom because of this song. I became a huge fan of her my senior year of high school, when this song came out.

Of course, I heard the song earlier today so I had to go to Smule to record it. I recorded the song originally back in April. You can listen to that recording here.

I haven't heard many covers of this song, but I am almost certain no one has covered it the way I have. To listen to my rendition of From This Moment On just watch the video above. If the video above is not playing, simply click here to listen to my version of the song.

Numb (Linkin Park) by Sarah Afshar

Chester Bennington was a man with a voice and a message. A voice so huge, he always shined his story through his songs. When I first heard Numb, I thought it was incredibly beautiful. From Linkin Park's Meteora album, the song is about living up to the expectations of others so much, you have become lost (or numb) in life. It depicts a strong message of giving in to others, but losing yourself along the way.

The message also portrays a person who tries so hard, but fails them self. And as much as they disappoint others, they are disappointing themselves more becoming so lost, they are numb to everything around them. This is exactly what this song is about.

I decided to cover the song using my own spin. If you cannot see the video above, just click here to listen to the song. Sounds much better with headphones.

RIP Chester Bennington

In the Arms of an Angel by Sarah Afshar

So, tonight I was on Smule as usual deciding what to sing when I realized that I wanted to sing Sarah McLachlan's "In The Arms Of An Angel" as it is such a beautiful song with so much depth, spirit and meaning. I heard this song when I was much younger, but didn't really appreciate it until I heard it on Animal Planet on one of the animal commercials. Then, when I heard about McLachlan's humanitarian efforts, especially towards animals, I just fell in love with it.

I originally recorded this song in late 2017. You can listen to that rendition here

To listen to my rendition simply watch the video above. If it doesn't play, simply click here right now to listen to it.

My Immortal by Sarah Afshar

I remember when I first heard this song. It was back in 2004. I was living in York, Pennsylvania at the time. The song was so dark yet so angelic and possessed a message so big, I felt immediately such a strong relation to the song.

So tonight, I took Smule to record My Immortal. I decided to add the super pop filter to my cover of the song. I also added some trills, as I wanted to do something different with the song without changing the arrangement.

With risk there is reward. I hope that is the case with this particular cover. To listen to my rendition of My Immortal, simply watch/listen to the video. If it doesn't play, just click here now.

Love Runs Out by Sarah Afshar

Love Runs Out by Sarah Afshar in the style of OneRepublic. Yes, I took the liberty of recording this song several hours ago from my iPhone via Smule app. I used the Super Pop filter which is exclusively available to those who are VIP members of Smule. I tried something different with the song.

The song is a great fusion of rock, soul, funk and pop rolled into one tune. I've always loved and appreciated OneRepublic for their strong ability to cover an array of genres and making them work. I am a fan of many songs by them, but Love Runs Out is one of my favorites.

To listen to the song, just click the arrow in the video below...

Main tumse pyar karthee hoon

I Will Always Love You is a song about finding love and not letting go it. If you truly love someone, you will always love them no matter what happens in life. And if that love is meant to be, it will never die. They say it takes a day to know someone, but it takes an entire lifetime to forget them. This song really sends a message and when it is complement by beautiful vocals (especially those of Whitney Houston and Dolly Parton) the song speaks for itself. I decided to record this song on Smule tonight.

I love this song for many reasons. I can relate to this song in many ways, especially now as an adult. A heart cannot be replaced, as real love can't ever die.

To listen to my rendition of the classic "I Will Always Love You" simply watch (or listen) to the video above. If you cannot hear it, just click here right now to listen. Main tumse pyar karthee hoon, Sumit.

Footprints in the Sand by Sarah Afshar

Originally performed by Leona Lewis and written by Simon Cowell, this is literally one of the most beautiful songs to exist. The song depicts a story between two people who love each other and are there for each other through thick and thin and through black and blue. The message is definitely real here and almost certain all of you can relate to this song, as much as I can.

I decided to go onto Smule and record this again (I recorded this last year, which you can hear here) and pour my soul into this once again. To listen to my rendition of Footprints in the Sand, simply watch the video above. If you cannot see the video, just click here to listen.

Starbucks Bottled Mocha Frappuccino Coffee Drink

Good morning. One thing I am really loving lately is the Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino Coffee Drink in the bottle. I love the flavor of them. Plus, they are so convenient. You can put them anywhere and reach for them at all anytime.

I love this drink because it provides your palate with the traditional over roasted flavor and still possesses that gourmand sweet flavor, for an epic balance. To me, coffee should never be savory and should definitely never be too sweet. It should be digestible and give you a real dopamine rush to want to reach for it every few minutes.

As much as I love the ice briskness of the modern Starbucks Frappe, this is definitely a drink I can get use to when the options are limited and I need a very much needed pick-me-up.

God Bless The USA, I love my country

Well, tomorrow as we celebrate Independence Day, all I can think of is how much I love the land of the free and the home of the brave. We have an incredible president Mr. Donald J. Trump who does so much for our wonderful country, as his pledge to make America great again, as we have liberty and the ability to say what we think without biting our tongue.

So, of course I took to one of my favorite apps, Smule to record one of my favorite patriotic songs, God Bless The USA by Lee Greenwood a few minutes ago.

Enjoy my rendition of God Bless The USA by watching the video above. If it doesn't play, just click here to listen. America, I love you!
