Temporary Restraining Order Granted

Temporary Restraining Order Granted

I never imagined I would find myself in a nightmare that feels all too real. Recently, I was granted a temporary restraining order against a man named Glen, who lives down the road from me. What began as a series of unsettling encounters has spiraled into a chilling ordeal that has left me terrified for my safety.

At first, Glen’s behavior seemed odd, but harmless. He would unexpectedly pop out from behind my bushes to greet me as I returned home from work. I brushed it off, thinking he was just a quirky neighbor. But then, the situation escalated. I started noticing him following me, lurking in the shadows, and invading my personal space in a sense that made zero sense and raised red flags. The creeping feeling in my gut grew stronger with each encounter.

The breaking point came when I caught Glen going through my mailbox. I watched in horror as he walked away with what looked like my mail. My heart raced as I realized this was no longer just a strange neighbor; this was a man who was crossing boundaries and invading my life in ways I never thought possible.

The incidents became more grotesque and alarming. Glen began leaving disturbing items in my mailbox, including a used condom and even smeared what appeared to be human feces on my front door. Each time I encountered these vile acts, my fear deepened. I felt like I was living in a horror movie, where the villain was all too real and far too close for comfort.

Desperate for help, I reached out to the police, and I can’t stress enough how grateful I am for their support. The chief of police and the deputies here in Dillon, Montana, have been nothing short of incredible. They took my fears seriously and acted quickly. Glen has a long history with the law, including multiple arrests this year alone, and is currently on probation. Learning that he has eight children with five different women in the area only added to my dread.

The police escorted me to the women’s center, where I could fill out a report in a safe environment. I documented every chilling encounter, every moment of fear, and every detail. When I met with the local judge, I felt a glimmer of hope. He was already aware of Glen’s troubling past and listened intently as I recounted my experiences. After reviewing my deposition, he granted me a temporary restraining order, assuring me that if Glen continued his harassment, he would face serious consequences.

As I write this, I can’t shake the feeling of vulnerability that has settled over me. You hear about stalking in books and on television, but it’s a different reality when it’s happening to you. The fear of Glen lurking outside my home, waiting for the next moment to strike, is a constant shadow over my life. Was he going to kill me? Is it possible he may have if I didn’t alert authorities?

If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, please don’t hesitate to seek help. Document everything, reach out to law enforcement, and remember that you are not alone. I hope that by sharing my chilling experience with a stalker, I can raise awareness about the terrifying reality of stalking and encourage others to take action. Stay vigilant and please be safe, everyone.
