Additionally, he was the last person to technically see her before she completely vanished.

After having food with Kevin at the local McDonalds, Kevin allegedly dropped her off shortly after at an abandoned house in Wausau, about 40 minutes from her home, claiming she was to meet her "boyfriend." Despite being charged with reckless endangerment related to the incident, he was never charged in connection to Kayla’s disappearance. In July 2011, due to a lack of evidence, the case against Kielcheski was dismissed.

She believed somewhere close to Appleton, but wasn’t 100% sure. The man who murdered her is in fact someone who she knew personally. Sadly Spicer died in January 2018, so I haven’t been able to speak with her more regarding Kayla Berg.
3. Serial Killer or Stalker: Some theories even suggest the possibility of Kayla being targeted by a serial killer or stalker who used online platforms to lure vulnerable young women. This consideration highlights the dangers of social interactions for minors, raising awareness about the risks associated with online communication. This is unlikely the case.

With no physical evidence to implicate him definitively, skeptics have voiced concerns about his lack of transparency. The question of why a 24-year-old (he’s in his 40’s today) would associate with a minor remains unsettling, leading many to suspect that he knows more than he has revealed. In addition to this, almost a week after Kayla disappeared, he remained completely silent until Kayla’s mother Hope Sprenger reported her daughter missing.
Her father James noticed the day after his daughter disappeared that she didn’t come home which prompted him to contact his wife, who he was separated from. It’s also important to know that Kevin’s home was thoroughly searched sporadically by authorities for years and they found no trace of Kayla Berg.
5. Involvement of Miguel: Kayla regularly attended parties in Wausau hosted by Miguel Marrero, then 19 years old. Now in his late 30s, Miguel was a figure her parents disapproved of upon learning he was four years her senior, prompting them to pressure her to end the relationship. Despite having brothers and a family, his residence was notorious for being a gathering place where numerous underage individuals congregated. Kayla made attempts to keep their relationship under wraps.
It’s important to note: On the evening of August 10, 2009, Kayla told her mother that she intended to spend the night at her friend Natasha’s residence, while Natasha informed her parents that she would be staying at Kayla’s home. Both of them went to Miguel’s party house together. This was how her parent’s discovered she was seeing Marreno.

Accidental or Suicide: Although the likelihood that Kayla Berg took her own life or suffered an overdose on drugs or alcohol is minimal, there remains an unsettling possibility that shadows the investigation. Personally, I find it improbable that she chose to end her life or succumb to substance misuse. Those who knew her well described her as a young woman who was not running or escaping from her life.
Going Back to Kevin Kielcheski
What renders this situation even more alarming is the revelation that the residence where Kielcheski dropped Kayla off at had been condemned by the city weeks before her disappearance. Furthermore, Kayla's boyfriend, Miguel, had already relocated to another house merely a mile away from that location. This sudden move was widely recognized among Kayla and her friends, culminating in a party at Marrero’s new residence the night prior to her disappearance. Significantly, Miguel's sister informed the police that she directly observed Kevin dropping off both Kayla and her friend Natasha to the new location prior. Additional acquaintances corroborated that Kevin was acutely aware of the new party house's location and routinely provided transportation for both Kayla and her brother, James, or Jimmy, to that house.
Kevin was acutely aware of the exact location he purportedly dropped her off at was the former site of the party house. He had previously dropped her off at the new location on several occasions. Friends and family noted that Kayla had a fear of the dark—so why would she choose to be dropped off at night at an old, vacant site merely a mile away? It makes no sense.
Migel Marreno Phone Calls
Despite Miguel's assertion to investigators that he had not seen or communicated with Kayla in over a week, phone records indicated otherwise. It was uncovered that Marreno owned a second mobile phone, which connected to a tower roughly 40 miles north of Wausau on the night of Kayla's disappearance. This phone received two unanswered calls from that tower between 1 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.

Kayla was 5'2" tall, weighed approximately 108 pounds, and was noted for her distinctive features: wide-set brown eyes, a fair complexion, cleft chin, and a unique nose that contributed to her look. She had visible piercings and noticeable scars, including one on her right shin and another on the right side of her nose, which adds further to her identifiability.
