Mad World is a song with a very powerful message. Originally recorded by Tears for Fears as an uptempo synth pop new wave tune, it has been made famous in recent years by Gary Jules who took this song and turned it into a rather depressing ballad. As I love both renditions, to me the Tears for Fears version is better because it is much more dynamic.
Tonight, I decided to go onto Smule to record my very own spin to the song. I recorded the Gary Jules version back in December of last year. You can listen to that recording here. Tonight, I decided to take on the Tears for Fears version. I used a super pop filter, as I added a little more soul to make it roll.
