A tragic day in Pittsburgh

Today I would like to take a moment to pray for the victims and their families of the Pittsburgh shooting. As many of you are already aware, a man named Robert Bowers stormed into the Pittsburgh synagogue and killed about a dozen people. Although I have friends from that area, including Jewish friends, I did not know any of the victims. It truly hurts me to see this on the news, as Pittsburgh to me was one of the safest cities in America.

I have had the pleasure of not only residing in Pittsburgh for many years, but attending college there also. I lived there from 1999 until 2003. Then, I stayed there for many months from Spring 2013 until Winter 2014). Pittsburgh will always be a place I will forever appreciate and be very near and dear to my heart. To think such a tragic event occurred today has me so sad.

With a heavy heart, I am praying for not just the victims and their families, but the entire city of Pittsburgh. This is one of the most tragic days in the steel city and I pray that the city is protected from such hate in the future.

Update, here are the victims of this terrible tragedy in the steel city:

Joyce Fienberg
Daniel Stein
Melvin Wax
Irving Younger
Bernice Simon
Sylvan Simon
David Rosenthal
Rose Mollinger
Richard Gottfried
Cecil Rosenthal
David Rosenthal

Rest in peace.
