Her lipstick is terrible.
First and foremost, the formula is awful. In my many years of using lipstick, I have never used a lipstick that both crystallized and oxidized on my lips. This was so uncomfortable on my lips, I felt like I was immediately using a defective product that was sitting in a box on a shelf for years.
Only one of the lipsticks had weird fibers and debri on it. Almost reminded me of lint from an old clothing dryer. I have no idea why she would release these lipsticks and still extremely baffled as to why she would. Two of the other ones had weird discoloration forming at the base. I want to guess mold. Only one of them had nothing wrong with it.
Another thing that I found to be modestly revolting was the smell of these. The scent of this lipstick just reminds me of old lipstick sitting on a shelf in an abandoned lab. I felt like I was using a lip product sitting on a shelf for years. I don't like the smell of old lipstick and would never want to put anything on my lips that smelled like it.
The only good things that I have to say about this lipstick is the shade range. I love the nude concept, as I love wearing nude and pink shades more so than reds and plums, etc. The packaging is also bank and really gives the lipstick a much higher quality than what it is really worth.
I will still continue to support Jaclyn Hill and I am hoping that she fixes this problem. Based on reading other reviews, I am not the only one who has had this experience. As much as I want to recommend these lipsticks, I simply cannot. Perhaps she needs to pull every single lipstick she has and restart from scratch. And if the manufacturer doesn't fix this problematic issue, I would go with another manufacturer. I believe this wasn't her fault, but more so the lab's fault and I hoping for a positive resolve in a near future. With that said, I would purchase these again only if the formula was changed.
