Psychic Insights: Angela Spicer on the Annabelle Doll

Annabelle Doll

This is an exclusive, previously unpublished interview with psychic medium and clairvoyant Angela Spicer, in which she offers her profound insights on the haunted Annabelle doll. Our conversation was spontaneous as Angela had no prior knowledge of the doll and I conducted the interview using only an iPhone 4s via FaceTime.

I first encountered Angela at a casino in Dillon, Montana, in late 2009 and our friendship deepened over the years as she provided me with numerous readings, including poignant reflections on my grandmother, who passed away over two decades ago. Angela's untimely passing in January 2018 left a significant void in the lives of many, including my own.

Since our discussion in early 2014 regarding the Annabelle doll, I have felt a compelling need to share this reading.  If you’re not familiar, the Annabelle doll is a haunted vintage Raggedy Ann doll.  Although I recorded our conversation, it has remained unpublished until now. What follows is the complete interview, presented in its entirety. Here is psychic Angela Spicer's insightful reading on the Annabelle doll.

Sarah: Hello Angela. Thank you for joining me today. It is great to see you. Your eyebrows look really good. Did you have them done recently?

Angela: Hello. It’s great to see you too. I did. Thank you. I had them laminated. You seem to be the only one who noticed.

Sarah: Today, I watched a paranormal series on A&E that featured psychic medium Lorraine Warren exploring a haunted house. Upon researching Lorraine, I found out that she co-owns a museum with her late husband, Ed, who passed away a few years ago. Among the intriguing items in the museum, one stands out: a haunted doll known as Annabelle. There is limited background on the doll other than what the Warrens’ shared and believe happened.

Angela: A little girl is stepping forward. She looks to be from the late 1800s, but in can’t tell. She’s adorable. She has long brown hair and brown eyes. She’s fair skinned.

Sarah: How old does she look?

Angela: I would say about 6 or 7 years old. Maybe 8. Don’t quote me, I’m not the best with ages. Just a guess.

Sarah: Interesting. Is she from Connecticut?

Angela: I do believe so. I’m getting the name Gilnack or Gilback. I’m also getting the name Anne or Anna. I think it’s her last name, but don’t quote me on that. I think her name is Anne or Anna and her last name is Gilnack or Gilback.

Sarah: Does the name Annabelle Higgins ring a bell?

Psychic Annabelle Doll

Angela: I’m not getting the name Higgins, but I am getting the name Annabelle. Her middle name is Belle. I’m also being shown the year 1876. She’s showing me a man with glasses who is very tall and lanky. I think this man abused her. It isn’t just hitting her either.

Sarah: Like sexual abuse?

Angela: Sexual abuse and torture. She’s showing me very dark and downright evil stuff right now. She’s showing me…if I’m being honest, I don’t want to see this. I do see this man killing her.

Sarah: The man did? That’s awful.

Angela: Yes. Her soul is in the doll. She’s not just trapped, but she hides in the doll to protect herself. She thinks he’s going to come after her and instead of crossing over, she refuses because she’s upset. She’s also angry and it’s made her energy in general dark.

Sarah: Is she a demon?

Angela: Kind of. She has unfinished business and someone used a binding spell to put her into what looks to be a glass case.

Sarah: That’s Lorraine Warren who did that. Now, in regard to the man, are you getting a name? Is this someone she knew?

Angela: I am not yet. I do see he murdered her. He beat her to death. I’m being shown that it is cold outside, but not quite Winter. This happened during the Fall in the 1870s. I strongly feel it is someone she knew or was close to her and her family.

Sarah: What does he look like?

Angela: The man who did this?

Sarah: Yes.

Angela: He’s tall and lanky. At least 6 feet. Brown hair and wears glasses. His eyes look green to me. He looks to be from the 19th century time. He looks at least 50-55, I wanna say. Don’t quote me, as I’m not good at ages.

Sarah: Are you getting a name?

Angela: I’m not right now. I do see this man as a pedophile and also someone who knew her family. Like an acquaintance of some sort.

Sarah: Raggedy Ann was introduced in 1915 and around that time, I think. How did Anna Belle Gilnack or Gilback get inside of the doll?

Angela: After she died or was murdered by that man, she didn’t cross over into heaven or the other side. She was watching both her parents crying and it made her upset, but her anger sort of lingered. They lived for years before both passed away themselves. They look like they are in their 70s or so when they died. I think the wife or her mom lived longer than the husband. She has brothers and siblings I see. Both the parents have brown hair and brown eyes. Looks like the entire family is Italian American. Somehow a family member had the doll and she just went inside of it because she felt safe there. She also likes the doll is named Ann.

Sarah: Is the doll evil?

Angela: Kind of. She’s very angry. Sometimes spirits stay here on earth after they die because they have unfinished business. She’s one of them. She doesn’t like most men because of what happened to her.

Sarah: She allegedly caused people to die and get injured. Is any of it true?

Angela: A lot of people say things that are a little exaggerated. I do see her moving, but not much. She’s a spirit here on earth who is angry with unfinished business. Spirits can only do so much. I think she has done somethings, but I don’t see her murdering anyone or the cause of someone dying. That’s just coincidence.

Sarah: Do you know if she will ever cross over into the spirit world? Will she ever go to Heaven?

Angela: I’m not sure. It looks like a medium placed a binding spell on her. I see her trapped right now here on earth. I’m not sure if she ever will. She feels safe inside of the doll. I think eventually.

Sarah: Is there anything she wants to say? Is there anything she wants known?

Angela: She is angry and is showing me that man again who did this to her. She says he stole her childhood and took her innocence. She’s saying to me that she loves that the doll is named Ann and that’s why she chose to stay on it. She isn’t showing me anything else right now.

Sarah: Very sad. Thank you so much for doing this reading today with me. Thank you for your help and your work.

Angela: No problem. I’m always happy to help.

The Annabelle doll, once owned by renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, is now housed in the Occult Museum they established in Monroe, Connecticut. Lorraine, a clairvoyant and medium, asserts that the doll is not only possessed, but also embodies malevolent energy, which is why it is confined within a glass case. Will the full truth about Annabelle and her choice to inhabit the doll ever come to light? It remains uncertain. However, some revelations were offered by the late psychic medium and my dear friend Angela Spicer in this previously unpublished interview from early 2014. Angela sadly passed away in 2018. She was only in her mid-30s at the time of her passing.

Rest in Peace.
