First Day of Spring 2019

Me today.
Today is officially the first day of Spring. It is hard to believe, as it seems like only yesterday we walked into Winter. Today is also Norooz, the Persian New Year. Is it bad to say that all I can think about is sleeping, eating and gardening? Perhaps, this is just Spring's effect on me considering I have been busy working 9-to-5, Monday through Friday for the last four years.

I just looked outside and there isn't an inch of snow on the ground. Not even a fraction of an inch. It is sunny and beautiful outside. Not hot at all and definitely not too cold. Although flowers aren't really blooming, my chocolate mint bush seems to be making an appearance. I'm also noticing the tulips in my yard, but everything else seems to be non existent at this point.

Time is virtuous, as time is relative but it flies by so fast. Sometimes I wonder if I can get everything I want to done in a 24 hour period. Perhaps I am persistent or impatient, but either way I am content with the way my life is going. Nothing bad has happened yet this year and I am hoping and praying it stays this way.

I want to also share that I just took the selfie I am sharing with this blog post using my LuMee case I got for Christmas. I now own 5 of these cases. They are the best especially for taking pictures up close. If you don't own one, you need one. As much as I love the factory camera that comes with my iPhone, this case will enhance your photos naturally. You don't have to edit them, as it naturally edits them. I love it.

After work, I have to make a quick trip to Whole Foods to buy some Gardein Mini Crabless Cakes. I also want to pick up somethings to make homemade vodka tomato sauce. I have been finding myself in the kitchen at home a lot more lately, as I don't find any urge to eat out anymore. I just enjoy the comfort of not having to travel let alone spend a fortune for something I can make as good, if not better at home. Know what I mean?

Well, I am going to make a smoothie, talk to Sumit for a few and then, go to work. Have a wonderful day everyone!

First Day of Summer 2018

It is officially the first day of Summer. I woke up in a relatively great mood. The weather is incredible, as it is not too hot or cold. Although the humidity prevents it from being pristine, I would say the environment is close to it for the first day of the hottest season. I am going to leave for work shortly, but want to make a smoothie before I go. I am thinking banana and dates with perhaps some chocolate almond milk? I like to add some coconut sugar for good measure. I don't know what it is with me and coconut sugar, as I seem to really be loving and appreciating it.

And speaking of coconut sugar, I do have to go grocery shopping after work today. I really love the fruit and vegetable stands here in Idaho. Everything is modestly fresh and organic. The prices are exceptionally good. I have lived all over yet I find myself appreciating this. One thing about Idaho that I find fascinating is the fact that it is hotter in the evening than the late morning/early afternoon. I think it is the only state I have ever been in that is like this. Perhaps this is why so many grow crops (potatoes and onions more than anything else) here.

For work today, I am wearing a simple mustard, gold colored v-neck shirt with a black belt and black pencil skirt. The shirt (which is visible) is from J.Crew. As you can kind of tell in my selfie today. The skirt is from BCBGMaxAzria (which is non-visible from the selfie) and the belt I bought from Forever 21

In terms of beauty products, I am very much obsessed with the Giorgio Armani Beauty Armani Prima Glow-On Moisturizing Face Balm, LORAC POREfection Foundation, By Terry Paris Ombre Blackstar Cream Eyeshadow Pen in Bronze Moon (No. 4), Benefit Cosmetics goof proof eyebrow pencil, and Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick in Libra. I love more things, but I only have a few minutes. I want to also add that I am currently obsessed with the Goutal Paris Rose Pompon Parfum. I own an array of perfumes yet I find myself reaching for this one the most. The fragrance is one of the best things you will ever smell in your life. I'll create a beauty favorites and share what I love for the month.

Anyways, I am off. Off to work that is. Have a wonderful day!

TBT: Me at my cousin's wedding

.
I went tanning this Summer hence why I was super dark. I also had my hair stripped from black to this color. And although I looked a little "orange" that was primarily from using artificial bronzer. I did both my makeup and my hair and last minute decided to wear my hair like this. I had a great time in spite of the wedding not being planned well.

I always love taking pictures though, as you can capture memories in virtually every photo. When I look at these photos, I remember that day like it was yesterday. And although the details seem to be somewhat of a vague blur, I haven't forgotten anything.

These were taken in North Carolina. The town or area was called Pittsboro, which was very close to where my cousin was living at the time. I was invited months prior and honestly, was uncertain about attending as I was a workaholic and didn't know if I could have any time. After much contemplation, I decided to attend. I stayed in a hotel nearby for a few days.

The day was beautiful, as it was warm but not too hot. There was sort of a breeze going on. It wasn't the Summer, but more so early Fall. I attended the wedding in late September years ago. One thing about North Carolina that I appreciate is the weather.

I haven't seen my cousin many years which was the main reason I wanted to go. I only spoke to her few times on Facebook, so I just knew going to the wedding would be a great idea. As she is my cousin from mother's side of the family, The wedding was also a good chance to see family and old friends.

My cousin Dawn was there. Only a few years later, her mother Carol Reiff was murdered. And still until this day, there has not been one single lead let alone suspect of her death. Those who have followed my blog know about her, as I have talked about her several times. Tragedy is an understatement.

I know this is kind of off topic, but with the Morgan Ingram case, I have garnered more than an interest in true crime, but a strong passion for justice. Although I have always loved true crime and mystery (being a little girl and watching Unsolved Mysteries was what really made me realize how much I enjoyed it) it wasn't until I interviewed Toni Ingram where I discovered the true darkness of our world.

I remember sitting in the backseat of a family member's car and snapping this picture of myself. At the time I had an old iPhone.

This picture (the one to your right) was made popular by Michael Odegard, an internet stalker who made a series of hate blogs about me shortly after I published these online. I think the blog was called "Sarah Afshar Bimbo" or something. Why he chose this photo, I have no idea. Shortly after, I think this individual used the picture again when he made another hate site about my ex boyfriend Joe.

Shortly after I took these photos, I uploaded them to Facebook. Afterwards, I rekindled with my old flame Joseph Valo. I've known Joe for about 20 years. And although he and decided to part ways late last year, I remember the time I spent with him. We are still friends.

When I look at the additional photos I took, I only remember the day. I remember some of the details too; however, a lot of things are a blur now. I don't know if it is because I have been busy for years upon years since or simply because I don't really want to go back to that day, knowing what I know about my cousin's ex husband. Either way, a picture tells a story. And whether that story is small or large, that is one story you will always remember for the rest of your life.
