Happy Mother's Day 2019

It is officially Mother's Day here in the United States. As the second Sunday in May, today we recognize, acknowledge and honor our mothers for all of the wonderful things they have done for us. From past to present, Mother's Day is a tried and true reverse of respecting our elders and what they have done for us to be who we are today.

My mother has always been an amazing person. As she can be a little rough around the edges, never have I ever discovered someone with such conviction as her. As free spirited as she is, my mother has been through a lot in the last several years, including a major health scare last year. However, she has managed to break free and live life to the fullest without worry. 

I admire my mother because she is a kind and kindred soul who does so much for her family and still continues to do so. And although I am not a mother yet, eventually I want to be one. As I aspire to be as good as my mother, I definitely have big shoes to fill. 

Today is one of the most underrated days on earth. As today is a tradition that dates back to over a century, it is a day that I find cognate to creation and transformation. Which leads me to the question-without our mother, where exactly would we be today? Without our mother, how would life exist?
